Touche.
Adam Rossington comes in to replace Pepper and smashes a second-ball six straight down the ground off Dawson.
Must point out that Essex opener Nick Browne has remained calm amid the carnage around him, he's unbeaten on 21 off 63 balls.
Essex 238 & 51-5 v Hampshire 163
The spinners combine! It's all about the slow bowlers at Chelmsford.
Felix Organ adds a catch to his three wickets as Michael Pepper ill-advisedly attempts to sweep Liam Dawson. Organ is perfectly placed at point to take the catch.
Organ grinding Essex down.

What did Luke Wells have for lunch?
The Lancashire opener is gone to the first ball after the restart as Gloucestershire make an early breakthrough.
The experienced left-hander plays down the wrong line to an inswinger from Tom Price - and he is bowled through the gate.
New man in is Josh Bohannon.

Notts 390-5 v Middlesex
A second century of the season for Lyndon James as he reaches three figures with a boundary - but it's his first at Trent Bridge.
It is warmly received both by the crowd and his partner at the other end, Tom Moores.
Next quest for Notts is maximum batting points.

The 73-run partnership between Chris Dent and Zafar Gohar could prove to be vital for Gloucestershire who managed to reach 337 before being bowled out.
The home side lost three wickets for five runs yesterday afternoon and had been looking at one stage at a sub-250 total.
We had showers before play started this morning, but the players left for lunch with the sun shining in Bristol. Lancashire openers Keaton Jennings and Luke Wells survived a tricky five over spell before lunch - and the Red Rose will be hoping for plenty of runs this afternoon.
Essex 238 & 48-4 v Hampshire 163
Early wicket after lunch for Hampshire - and it's Felix Organ again.
Paul Walter gets trapped in the crease, tries to defend a full ball, misses it and it hits pad. Looked like it would hit off stump and the umpire agrees.
Just one run off 10 balls for Walter. Essex's lower order bailed out their top order in the first innings and they might have to do so again.

Notts 381-5 v Middlesex
We're off and running at last at Trent Bridge - and it is a dramatic start to the day as Steven Mullaney goes to the fifth ball of the day.
Tim Murtagh had sent down 21 overs the previous day without reward, but he had already troubled Mullaney just the ball before.
Lyndon James meanwhile edges closer to becoming Notts' second centurion of the innings.

Worcestershire 271, Glamorgan 114-8
Quite a morning for Worcestershire at New Road.
Joe Leach has taken a further three wickets to post figures so far of 6-44.
Only opener Ed Byrom (46) has stayed resolute, in defiance.
He will still have Andrew Salter for compnay when Glamorgan resume on 114-8 at 10 past 2, with only then last man Michael Hogan to come - and they still need a further eight runs to avoid the the risk of being asked to follow on.
Worcestershire 271, Glamorgan 109-8
Ed Barnard gets in on the act as an eighth Glamorgan wicket goes down.
Michael Neser did not last long as he misjudges one that nips back from Barnard to remove his middle stump.
After losing five wickets this morning, the visitors still need a further 13 to avoid the threat of being asked to bat again.
Andrew Salter comes out to join opener Ed Byrom, who is on 46.
Worcestershire 271, Glamorgan 104-7
Joe Leach strikes again.
The former Worcestershire skipper induces an edge from Tom Cullen - and Ed Pollock takes a sharp catch low down at slip.
Third wicket of the morning. Sixth of the innings.
Leach's career-best is 6-73. He could quite easily beat that here. So many of his wickets have come in quick bursts down the years. When he's fully fit and fired up, he's quite formidable.

Gloucestershire 337, Lancashire 7-0

72 overs left to come in this extended day, following Sunday's rain-affected first morning.
Worcestershire 271, Glamorgan 93-6

BBC Radio Wales
Late lunch here at 1.30 after the 30-minute rain delay at the start of the day.
Worcestershire paceman Joe Leach completed a remarkable five-for within his first six overs as Glamorgan continued to struggle at New Road on a lively, pacy pitch.
They slumped to 61-6, even worse than the home side’s travails at 63-5 on day one, and in severe danger of falling short of the modest follow-on target of 122.
Only opener Ed Byrom reached double figures among the top seven, moving into his 30s as the Worcestershire seamers enjoyed their work and found the edge frequently in the first 90 minutes..
Just before the start of play, Worcestershire lost rookie batter Taylor Cornall, who had continued his innings after being struck on the helmet. He was withdrawn following further concussion checks and Tom Fell was summoned from Second XI duty at Edgbaston.
Derbyshire 430-7 v Sussex
Adrian Harms
BBC Sussex
A good morning for the visitors, adding 91 for the loss of Wayne Madsen and Hayden Kerr.
Madsen’s dismissal for an excellent 176, leaving Derbyshire 353-6, would have given Sussex hope, but Anuj Dal has batted patiently with the lower order, reaching lunch just 11 runs short of his century
Sussex have bowled tidily but without any real threat, as they look for their first victory in 20 County Championship matches.
Surrey 635-6 v Kent
Sam Curran's first-ever professional century has helped Surrey continue their dominance of proceedings against Kent.
His 126 followed 124s from Hashim Amla and Ben Geddes on Sunday.
The main question after lunch is when Surrey will declare - would imagine they will at least let Will Jacks pass the 100 mark too. He's unbeaten on 77, with Gus Atkinson on 30no.
Kent's bowlers will welcome the interval.
Essex 238 & 45-3 v Hampshire 163
That's the final ball before lunch.
All seven wickets this morning have gone to spinners - and the past 11 in the match overall.
We can expect to see more of the same this afternoon as Hampshire attempt to peg Essex back - the hosts lead by 120 runs with seven wickets remaining.
Essex 238 & 45-3 v Hampshire 163
Ouch, just what Essex didn't want right on the stroke of lunch. Dan Lawrence is trapped leg before by Liam Dawson to keep this match in the balance.
Surrey 624-6 v Kent
It's worth mentioning that ton for Sam Curran was his first century in any format of the game.
We know - shocked us too.
First of many now surely.
