  1. Hampshire will have to bat againpublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Gloucestershire 201 & 258-5 v Hampshire 457

Miles Hammond pulls James Fuller to the fence to bring the scores level, meaning Hampshire will have to bat again to win this game.

But there are still five wickets to go before we get to that, and Hammond is proving a real thorn in the side.

  2. wicket

WICKET Rhodes c Billings b Quinn 15published at 12:13 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Warwickshire 225 & 86-4 v Kent 165 & 384-9 dec

    Will Rhodes is out.

The Warwickshire captain has been caught off the glove trying to pull Matt Quinn to leg.

Ten catches now for Sam Billings.

    Surrey 141-3 (target 161) v Essex

And that's what Jamie Overton's been sent in for.

Spinner Matt Critchley drops short and the England man rocks back and pulls him for six.

    20 needed. Rain closing in.

    Surrey 133-3 (target 161) v Essex

Surrey must know they need to get a move on here as there's a band of really heavy rain moving into London from the south.

They've sent in Jamie Overton at five.

They should just about be okay, but another tight few overs from Essex could make things interesting.

  6. wicket

WICKET Patel c Rossington b Harmer 38published at 12:07 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Surrey 132-3 (target 161) v Essex

Simon Harmer makes the breakthrough for Essex but it's surely too late now?

Ryan Patel snicks the spinner behind as he pushes at one outside off stump with 29 more runs needed for victory.

  7. rain stops play

Rain delaypublished at 12:04 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Somerset 424 & 225-6 v Yorkshire 276

The covers are still on at Taunton.

So frustrating. And it's probably scuppered any chance of a positive result.

Somerset will surely declare with a lead of 373 if we do get any play.

    Surrey 125-2 (target 161) v Essex

It's all looking rather easy for Surrey out there. 36 more required.

They'll take 22 points from this match and stretch their lead to 37 points over second-placed Hampshire.

That'll of course close up again if Hants manage to beat Gloucestershire.

  9. Here comes the spinpublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Northants 235 & 174 v Lancashire 132 & 225-6

After 13 overs of seam, we are going to have some spin at Wantage Road.

Simon Kerrigan into the attack with the target down to 53.

  10. Bears digging inpublished at 11:57 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Warwickshire 225 & 79-3 v Kent 165 & 384-9 dec

Dominic Sibley and Will Rhodes are digging in here for Warwickshire.

The target to win is nominally 325, but the Bears will have no chance of that if they lose too many more wickets this session.

Kent look eager in the field. They sense breaking through the batting line-up.

  11. Nightwatchman finally off the markpublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Northants 235 & 174 v Lancashire 132 & 223-6

Nightwatchman (well, second after Matt Parkinson) Will Williams has shown admirable defence in this innings.

But when Ben Sanderson sends one onto his pads, Williams steers it fine for four runs - his first of the morning!

He is six not out from 46 balls.

    Northants 235 & 174 v Lancashire 132 & 219-6

Ten overs at Wantage Road this morning.

27 runs for Lancashire. The wicket of Josh Bohannon for Northants.

The target is down to 59. How close until we see some spin for the home team?

  13. 6 runs

Postpublished at 11:46 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Surrey 111-2 (target 161) v Essex

    Oh hello!

That gets things going. Tom Lawes launches Simon Harmer's fifth ball of the morning for a straight six with a skip down the wicket. Another couple takes the target down to exactly 50.

  14. Career best for Hammondpublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Gloucestershire 201 & 218-5 v Hampshire 457

Miles Hammond picks up a single off Keith Barker and that takes him up to 124 - his career best score.

The Cheltenham lad loves the Festival, too. It's his second century here.

  15. Postpublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Surrey 102-2 (target 161) v Essex

That's the 100 up for Surrey and just 59 required for victory.

    Essex need a miracle.

  16. Division Two latestpublished at 11:38 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

Colin Ingram Sam NortheastImage source, Rex Features

Colin Ingram and Sam Northeast are going along nicely for Glamorgan at Leicestershire. Both are in the 60s with Glamorgan on 147-2. But they still trail by 437 on day three.

Sussex have started their second innings at Lord's in a high-scoring game against Middlesex that seems destined for a draw.

Ali Orr was run out for a single and they're now 19-1 and leading by 57.

As we've just heard, rain is still delaying the start between Derbyshire and Notts and an early lunch has been taken.

  17. Lunch at Derbypublished at 11:37 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Derbyshire 318 & 79-0 v Nottinghamshire 618-8 dec

The players are going to take lunch at midday in Derby with an inspection due at 12:40 BST if the rain has stopped by then.

  18. Four close catchers in for Northantspublished at 11:29 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Northants 235 & 174 v Lancashire 132 & 213-6

India all-rounder Washington Sundar is the new man in for Lancashire.

Facing Jack White, he has four close catchers for company - two slips, a gully and a short extra - as well as wicketkeeper Lewis McManus.

Sundar grabs a single from Jack White's over.

    64 runs to win.

  19. wicket

WICKET van Buuren c Vince b Barker 29published at 11:24 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Gloucestershire 201 & 201-5 v Hampshire 457

Keith Barker does it again for Hampshire! His fourth of the innings.

He removes Gloucestershire captain Graeme van Buuren, drawn into a drive and it flies into the safe hands of James Vince at first slip.

Miles Hammond remains at the other end on 117.

  20. Postpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Surrey 92-2 (target 161) v Essex

Surrey aren't in any hurry this morning at The Oval.

Just the seven runs added but they only need 69 more for a sixth win in 10 games.
