  1. wicket

WICKET Bohannon c Young b White 103published at 11:20 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Northants 235 & 174 v Lancashire 132 & 209-6

Would you believe it? The game turns again.

Two balls after reaching his hundred and Josh Bohannon has gone.

He tries to guide one from Jack White, but it is well pouched low down at gully by Northants captain Will Young.

Lancashire still need 69. Northants only want four wickets. This is up for grabs.

  2. 100 runs

for Josh Bohannonpublished at 11:19 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Northants 235 & 174 v Lancashire 132 & 209-5

Josh Bohannon clips a half-volley from Jack White past a diving Emilio Gay at mid-wicket to the boundary to bring up a terrific century.

It's come off 166 balls with 18 fours and a six. He has brought the target down to 69.

  3. wicket

WICKET Hain c Billings b Saini 16published at 11:14 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Warwickshire 225 & 51-3 v Kent 165 & 384-9 dec

A rapid start to the final day from Warwickshire batter Sam Hain, but it's all too brief.

Hain had hit four fours in six balls, including three in an over from Navdeep Saini, but he is undone on his seventh ball.

The India man makes amends with an outswinger, which takes Hain's edge and Sam Billings takes a super catch low down.

A ninth catch of the match for the Kent captain.

  4. How far can Glos push Hampshire?published at 11:09 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Gloucestershire 201 & 200-4 v Hampshire 457

Miles Hammond helps himself to successive fours off Keith Barker's first over of the morning to bring up the 200.

Hammond batted excellently yesterday to hold up Hampshire and he has started in similar vein.

The deficit is down to 56 before Gloucestershire would force the match into a fourth innings.

    Surrey 86-2 (target 161) v Essex

Opener Ryan Patel and nightwatchman Tom Lawes are the batters in the middle for Surrey.

This should be wrapped up before lunch for the Division One leaders.

But we've seen stranger things on a cricket field. 75 more needed.

  6. rain stops play

Raining in Tauntonpublished at 11:03 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Somerset 424 & 225-6 v Yorkshire 276

    Not ideal.

Just as the players were about to head out it starting raining heavily at Taunton.

    It'll be a delayed start.

There's also a delay between Derbyshire and Notts in Division Two, but six matches have started on time.

  7. Bohannon holds the keypublished at 11:02 British Summer Time 22 July 2022

    Northants 235 & 174 v Lancashire 132 & 192-5

For Lancashire, it is only six days since the T20 Blast slipped through their fingers as they choked when chasing 153 to beat Hampshire.

Yesterday at 165-2 in pursuit of 278 to beat Northants and keep their Championship hopes alive, things were looking rosy.

But three late wickets at the end of a mammoth day changed the momentum. Only 78 more runs are required, and five wickets in hand, but Josh Bohannon, on 92 not out, is the pivotal figure.

If he stays at the crease, Lancashire win. If not, Northants will wrap up victory.

Championship leaders Surrey are chasing 161 for their sixth victory of the season and are well placed with just two wickets down.

They only need 76 more to get over the line at The Oval. But Essex and Simon Harmer have won plenty of tight games over the years.
