Essex 105-0 v Somerset
Nick Browne is the first of Essex's two openers to reach his 50.
Will Sir Alastair Cook follow him to 50?
Dent c Young b Sanderson 54 (Glos 122-3 v Northants)
That's as far as it goes for Chris Dent.
The left-hander slashes at a wide ball from Ben Sanderson's next over and it flies to second slip, where Northamptonshire captain Will Young holds the catch above his head.
James Bracey is the new man in for Gloucestershire.
Essex 100-0 v Somerset
The Essex 100 is the first landmark to be reached . . . in the 39th over.
Nick Browne is loitering dangerously on 49. Sir Alastair is on 43.
Yorkshire 76-6 v Hampshire
From 33-6, Yorkshire's seventh-wicket pair Will Fraine (29) and Dom Bess (20) have now more than doubled the score for the Tykes at Scarborough - and in quick time too.
The lunchtime pressbox chat was that Fraine was in fact dropped earlier on 3 by Joe Weatherley, although a tough chance admittedly.
Could that now prove an expensive miss?
More importantly, the sun is now out again in Scarborough.
Glos 116-2 v Northants
Having had to wait more than hour to pick up the one run he needed for his half-century, Chris Dent wastes no further time when play resumes after a rain delay.
The second ball of Ben Sanderson's over is dispatched sweetly to the cover boundary, taking the Gloucestershire left-hander past 50 from 89 balls.
No overs have been lost as a result of that lunchtime shower.
Durham 91-0 v Middlesex
It's been a good start for Durham since Middlesex put them in at the Riverside - and opener Michael Jones has just brought up his half-century.
Jones gets there from 107 balls, the fourth time he's passed 50 this season, and opening partner Alex Lees is well set alongside him on 35 not out.
Essex 88-0 (36 overs) v Somerset
First run of the afternoon session goes to Sir Alastair Cook (41).
Followed by a first boundary from Nick Browne (39).
Only questions to answer are in which order the following will occur? Cook's 50? Browne's 50? Or The Essex 100?
Some polite clapping ahead . . .
Glos 112-2 v Northants
The players haven't yet emerged for the afternoon session at Cheltenham - but that's nothing to do with the quality of lunch on offer, it's because there's been a lunchtime shower.
Fingers crossed, play will resume in around 15 minutes' time.
Lancashire v Kent

Surrey v Warwicks 71-2
Good news for Surrey fans straight after lunch - no, not the fall of another wicket, but the fact that Jamie Overton is back on the field.
Overton went off for treatment to a finger after a sharp edge from Chris Benjamin reached him on the half-volley, but he is now back out there as Surrey push for further inroads into this Warwickshire batting line-up.
No more runs added so far since lunch, with Jordan Clark and Kemar Roach sending down a maiden apiece.
Yorkshire 54-6 v Hampshire
Back underway at Scarbrough after that slightly early rain-induced lunch - and Yorkshire seem all the better for it.
Will Fraine is their first man to double figures, having so far hit half of his 24 in boundaries - and that has helped the Tykes go past 50.
Derbyshire 57-7 v Worcestershire

Quite the morning for the Pears.
Winning the toss and having a bowl on a green-faced pitch, they've run riot.
A first bonus point after 15 minutes in 21 balls. Dillon Pennington (4-18) jagging it sideways at pace. The slips with the safest of hands. And Derbyshire had collpased to 14-55 in the eighth over.
Only Leus du Plooy stood defiant - patient enough to wait for the bad ball. Not that there were many.
Together with Anuj Daj he added 49 before Ed Barnard (2-8) had him well snaffled at third slip by Josh Baker for 38.
That helped the visitors move past their lowest ever total against Worcestershire but Mattie McKiernan's chop-on trying to leave another Barnard delivery left them limping into lunch seven down.
We've seen five overs from Pakistan quick Muhammad Hasnain on his debut but, so far, his extra pace hasn't been needed.
Essex 83-0 v Somerset

Tom Abell's heart must have sunk when he realised he'd called wrong at the toss, with Sir Alastair Cook to put runs on the board for Essex in the first innings and Simon Harmer to cope with on a used pitch in the fourth.
So far, the first part of his worst forebodings have been fulfilled.
Cook, and his opening partner Nick Browne have got through to lunch with the minimum of fuss and bother.
To add to Somerset's woes, Craig Overton seems to have damaged his right shoulder in the field, and Jack Leach has been struggling to cope with a blustery wind.
For Abell and co, things can only get better.
DIVISION ONE
Chelmsford: Essex 83-0 v Somerset
Cheltenham: Gloucestershire 112-2 v Northamptonshire
Old Trafford: Lancashire v Kent (No play before lunch)
The Oval: Warwickshire 71-2 v Surrey
Scarborough:Yorkshire 33-6 v Hampshire
DIVISION TWO
Riverside: Durham 77-0 v Middlesex
New Road: Derbyshire 57-7 v Worcestershire
Glos 112-2 v Northants
Chris Dent goes to lunch one short of his half-century, having shared 50 partnership with both Ollie Price and Miles Hammond after Gloucestershire opted to bat first at Cheltenham.
Hammond is going along nicely on 22 not out and the home side are well set to build a solid total in a game they must win to have any realistic hope of escaping relegation.
Surrey v Warwicks 71-2
Warwickshire will feel they've done reasonably well to get through to lunch for the loss of just two wickets, with the ball swinging around a fair bit.
Tom Lawes has made it do the most for Surrey, finding the edge on several occasions and taking the wicket of Alex Davies, as well as conceding just 10 from his six overs so far.
Dom Sibley has survived a couple of chances, one a straightforward one to third slip to reach 33 not out, with Sam Hain alongside him on five.
Essex 83-0 (32 overs)
Another solid morning's work from openers Nick Browne (35) and Alastair Cook (40) after Essex opeted to bat at Chelmsford.
All regulation stuff here.
32 overs faced, after a second spinner, Matt Renshaw came on just before lunch (Somerset's sixth bowler of the morning), so the visiting attack are up with the required over rate.
No wickets.
And Browne and Cook making their customary steady progress on a slow pitch no doubt set up later for Simon Harmer.
McKiernan b Barnard 0 (Worcs v Derbys 53-7)
Second wicket for Ed Barnard - and a seventh this morning for Worcestershire - as Mattie McKiernan plays on for a duck.
The home side will certainly enjoy their lunch today at New Road, you feel.
Yorkshire 33-6 Hampshire
The rain has quickly passed at North Marine Road.
But they are, as expected, taking an early lunch.
Hampshire's appetites will, it is safe to say, be healthier than Yorkshire's.
The rain arrived 90 minutes too late to spare them a morning's embarrassment.
Not getting any better across the Pennines either.
Clearly, it's grim up north today.
