Ed Barnes is really going for it now.

After seeing partner Roman Walker divert a ball past the slips for four earlier in the over, he pulls Dane Paterson to the mid-wicket boundary.

Barnes repeats the shot from the final delivery but this time makes even better contact and clears the rope. He is 32 not out.

  8. wicket

WICKET Procter c Donald b Fuller 40published at 14:19 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

    Hants 400-9d v Northants 153-7

    Massive wicket for Hampshire.

Luke Procter was the only man providing some resistance today but he’s now gone.

James Fuller is round the wicket on a good length, squares Procter up and finds a healthy edge behind.

Big pump of the fist from Fuller.

Hampshire only have the tail to knock over now and Northants are still 98 away from saving the follow-on.

Plenty of Yorkshire grit being demonstrated by Ben Coad and Steven Patterson at Old Trafford.

Coad takes two runs from the final ball of Tom Hartley's latest over and the White Rose are just one big hit - or two or three well-placed smaller ones - away from a second batting point.
