And that's now the close of play in all nine of our games.

So, Kent are safe - but five teams will still be fighting for survival and promotion heading into day three.

Mind you, it would take a miracle for Nottinghamshire not to go up now.

We'll be back from 10:15 BST tomorrow. Catch you then!

  2. Close at Trent Bridgepublished at 18:11 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Notts 662-9d v Durham 53-2

    What a day for Notts.

They racked up the joint-seventh highest total in their history, and highest against Durham, collecting four batting points in the process.

Lyndon James made a career-best unbeaten 164 but captain Steven Mullaney was the star with 136 in 111 balls including seven sixes.

Durham lost nightwachman Liam Trevaskis and, more crucially, Sean Dickson and have got the north face of the Eiger in front of them to try and save the game from here.

  3. Close of play at Old Traffordpublished at 18:05 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Lancashire 512 v Surrey 123-5

An on-off afternoon in Manchester but Lancashire lead by 389 runs at stumps.

  4. Close of play at Edgbastonpublished at 18:03 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Warwickshire 272-4 dec v Hampshire 4-0

Ian Holland plays and misses at one from Liam Norwell and the umpires decide the light is not good enough to carry on.

A very frustrating day for Warwickshire. Only 32.1 overs completed and only one team they can now overtake to ensure survival - Yorkshire.

  5. wicket

    WICKET Dickson c Broad b Patterson-White 20published at 18:01 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Notts 662-5d v Durham 35-2

    A second strike for Notts.

Durham crumbled to spin in their final game last season at Bristol and they’ll have plenty of spin to face here.

Sean Dickson goes to pull Liam Patterson-White and gets a huge top edge to mid-on.

Shortly after, the players are off for bad light.

  8. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Headingleypublished at 17:57 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Yorkshire 183 v Gloucestershire 190 & 204-6

There is both sun and rain in Leeds, but the rain wins as the players make their way off.

That could be it for the day in which Gloucestershire have taken control, if not quite a decisive hold, of the game.

  9. Stumps at New Roadpublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Worcs 225 v Middx 146-2

Also done for the day in Worcester.

The hosts’ final two wickets last an hour and pushed Worcestershire to a middling number rather than a low one.

But Pieter Malan has begun to put that number into perspective and Middlesex are well placed coming back for day three.

  10. Close of play at Hovepublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Sussex 88-1 v Glam 533-9d

That’s it for the day on the south coast.

A great one for Glamorgan where Chris Cooke’s 141 followed Shubman Gill’s 119 and the visitors collected maximum batting points.

But Sussex replied strongly, scoring at a great lick and only losing Ali Orr by the close.

  11. wicket

WICKET Taylor c Lyth b Fisher 67published at 17:52 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Yorkshire 183 v Gloucestershire 190 & 196-6

Jack Taylor slaps one from Matt Fisher straight to midwicket and Yorkshire have a sixth wicket.

But what damage has Taylor done to them in this innings?

A partnership of 122 with Ollie Price and the lead up to 203.

  12. KENT AVOID RELEGATIONpublished at 17:50 British Summer Time 27 September 2022
    Breaking

Kent 405-7 v Somerset 202 - bad light stopped play

Warwickshire's declaration at Edgbaston means Kent are safe.

The Bears can only get to 141 points now if they win - Kent already have at least 142 points with the eight bonus points they'll pick up from this match.

So it's a straight shootout between Yorkshire and Warwickshire to avoid relegation.

  16. wicket

    WICKET T Curran b Williams 11published at 17:46 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Lancashire 512 v Surrey 110-5

What a sight for a fast bowler!

Will Williams sends not one, but two stumps, careering out of the ground.

Tom Curran is the bemused batter as he sees his middle and leg stumps on the floor.

  17. Bad light stops play at New Roadpublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Worcs 225 v Middx 146-2

    Sussex 88-1 v Glam 533-9d

Light has closed in at Hove and could end the day on the south coast.

  19. Warwickshire declarepublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Warwickshire 272-4 dec v Hampshire 0-0

Smart cricket from Warwickshire captain Will Rhodes as he calls time on his side's first innings.

The players are returning to the field and the Bears now have the Hampshire batters in their sight.

Warwickshire have to win and the only way to do that is to take 20 wickets.

  20. Postpublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

These are dangerous moments for Yorkshire as the game threatens to spiral away from them.

Jack Taylor is given a bit of width by Ben Coad and he hits three successive boundaries.
