  1. wicket

    WICKET Bell-Drummond b Aldridge 36published at 15:00 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Kent 251-3 v Somerset 202

One ball after getting four to bring up the 250 and a second batting point than Daniel Bell-Drummond has gone.

Kasey Aldridge gets one through the defences and knocks middle stump out of the ground.

  2. 100 runs

for Rob Yatespublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Warwickshire 195-2 v Hampshire

Rob Yates guides one into the onside and sprints hard to get the two he needs for his hundred.

After five last season, it's his first for 12 months and at a crucial time.

With 20 fours, it has been full of strokeplay. But the job is not done, Warwickshire need plenty more Yates runs.

  3. Here we go againpublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Warwickshire 185-2 v Hampshire

For what feels like the umpteenth time, play is resuming at Edgbaston.

In theory, we could have another 46 overs of cricket today.

They're also back out at Northants v Essex... for the time being.

  4. 100 runs

for Lyndon Jamespublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Notts 504-4 v Durham

The third centurion of the innings for Notts.

And a third first-class hundred of the summer for the 23-year-old from Worksop.

158 balls and 13 boundaries here.

Two fours from Steven Mullaney, now 48 not out, take Notts past 500 and they have the game at their mercy.

How many will they want before letting Durham try and bat out the game?

  5. wicket

WICKET Hammond c Bess b Coad 4published at 14:48 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Yorkshire 183 v Gloucestershire 190 & 61-3

    Good catch!

Ben Coad surprises Miles Hammond with one that bounces and hits the shoulder of the bat.

It loops into the offside where Dom Bess dives forward from backward point to grab it.

Yorkshire back in the mix now.

  6. wicket

WICKET Charlesworth lbw b Bess 25published at 14:43 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Yorkshire 183 v Gloucestershire 190 & 56-2

Goodness me, Yorkshire needed that one!

Dom Bess gets one to turn, straighten and hit Ben Charlesworth on the pads and gets the decision from the umpire.

The wicket ends a partnership of 55 with Gloucestershire leading by 63.

This match promises to be a nerve-jangler from here on.

  7. 100 runs

for Godleman & Reecepublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Derbyshire 226-0 v Leicestershire 249

Derbyshire opener Luis Reece goes to his century and he's joined in the three-figure club in the next over by captain Billy Godleman.

Absolute dominance from the hosts against Division Two's bottom side. Leicestershire look almost certain to finish the season with no County Championship wins.

  8. Postpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Kent 228-2 v Somerset 202

Daniel Bell-Drummond pulls a short ball from Tom Abell to the ropes and Kent are rebuilding solidly after the loss of both openers.

This partnership is now worth 38 runs.

  9. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Northantspublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Northants v Essex 223-8

They're back off at Northants after an over.

  10. Back on at Hovepublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Sussex v Glam 410-7

Not too much of a delay for Glamorgan.

  11. rain stops play

Rain stops play at New Roadpublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Worcs 225 v Middx 111-2

    Middlesex’s progress halted.

  12. 50 runs

for Pieter Malanpublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Worcs 225 v Middx 108-2

Ed Barnard digs one in and Pieter Malan pulls hard and flat over square leg for six to bring him fifty in 91 balls, also with nine fours.

Middlesex going very well trying to respond not only to Worcestershire’s modest total but to Glamorgan’s five batting points.

  13. Play resumes at Northantspublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Northants v Essex 220-8

After a four-hour delay, play is finally under way at Wantage Road.

Tom Westley and Ben Allison resume batting for the visitors with their ninth-wicket stand worth 68.

  14. rain stops play

Let's hope the weather does not settle matterspublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

With Warwickshire and Glamorgan both being frustrated by rain, it would be such a shame following the glorious summer we have had if events this week for promotion and relegation were settled by the weather and not on the field.

  15. Shot!published at 14:26 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Yorkshire 183 v Gloucestershire 190 & 50-1

That is lovely from James Bracey as he drives Ben Coad for four.

Four more. Coad is a bit straighter and Bracey sends it between mid on and midwicket.

He is up to 27 to go with the 71 in the first innings.

  16. It's raining at Hovepublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Sussex v Glam 410-7

Further proof, as if it were needed, that Glamorgan don’t want to hang around here.

  17. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Edgbastonpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Warwickshire 185-2 v Hampshire

Six overs this time and the players are trudging off the field again for another rain break.

With every stoppage, Warwickshire slip closer to Division Two.

  18. First batting point and the leadpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Kent 204-2 v Somerset 202

Kent run a bye to bring up the 200 for their first batting point.

Then Joe Denly swivels and pulls one down to the boundary for his first four to move his team into the lead.

This could be a decisive run for Kent.

That first point is another landmark - they move level with Yorkshire and ahead by virtue of more wins. It is another barrier between them and possible relegation.

  19. 400 up for Glamorganpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Sussex v Glam 401-7

Chris Cooke onto 73 for Glamorgan and he brings up maximum batting points.

    Absolutely perfect for Glamorgan.

I wonder if they might now have a dip at a few more quick runs so they can get bowling?

Still so much time left in the game but you can’t rely on the weather this week and light is always likely to take away time at the end of the day.

  20. Glos digging inpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 27 September 2022

    Yorkshire 183 v Gloucestershire 190 & 33-1

Attritional stuff from the Gloucestershire batters here as Ben Charlesworth and James Bracey dig in.

They have had a few close shaves, but they are still there as the lead closes in on 50.
