    Lancashire 144-4 (17 overs) v Yorkshire

Two from the first three balls is not big.

Jordan Thompson has switched ends to good effect.

Dane Vilas runs hard for three to try and get the scoreboard going.

Great save by Dom Bess on the boundary to save three runs, he would have known it if that slipped through.

But don't bother running for that - SIX - from Tim David to end the over.

    Lancashire 131-4 (16 overs) v Yorkshire

Yorkshire will be quite happy with this. Only 73 runs from these middle 10 overs.

Lancs need a BIG final four.

Salt run out (Thompson) 59 (Lancashire 129-4 v Yorkshire)

Good control here from Revis. Just two from his first three balls and almost a wicket as Salt's top edge falls just short of fine leg.

Fourth ball, Lancs go for two, but Yorkshire think they may have run Phil Salt out.

    We're going upstairs...

They have! Nice work from Jordan Thompson in the deep.

  4. Postpublished at 19:31 British Summer Time 27 May 2022

    Lancashire 126-3 (15 overs) v Yorkshire

T20 blaster Tim David is the new man in. He hit 16 sixes from the 86 balls he faced in the IPL this year!

But Adil Rashid is not fazed by reputation.

Only six off his final over and an excellent night's work. 1-26 off his four.

    North Group update

    Colin MunroImage source, Rex Features

Ben Curran has fallen for 72 off 43 balls but his Northants side are well on top, they're on 149-2 against Durham after 13 overs.

Colin Munro is also having an enjoyable evening for Worcestershire, he's on 66 not out as the Rapids move to 132-4 against Notts with five overs to go.

And Birmingham Bears have started well at Derbyshire. They're on 54-1 after six overs.

    Livingstone c Brook b Thompson 23 (Lancashire 118-3 v Yorkshire)

That's a big scalp for Jordan Thompson.

Liam Livingstone tries to repeat his massive six but he can't clear the field and the safe hands of Harry Brook.

Only back from the IPL yesterday, Livingstone's knock ends at 23 off 16 balls.

Quick poll... is he the best T20 batter in the world right now? Thumbs up for yes, thumbs down for no.

Nelson for Lancashire thanks to Livingstone's deft cut.

That's Shadab bowled out now. Figures of 4-0-33-0 for the Pakistan leggie.

  10. 50 runs

for Phil Saltpublished at 12.1 overs

    Lancashire 103-2 v Yorkshire

A first T20 game for his new county, and a first 50 for Phil Salt.

Coming off 33 balls, he'll want to push on.

  11. Out of the ground!published at 19:20 British Summer Time 27 May 2022

    Lancashire 102-2 (12 overs) v Yorkshire

Crikey Matt Revis, that's an ambitious LBW shout! That would not hit fifth stump down leg. A better shout next ball, although it could barely have been worse - a bit high maybe.

Good control out there for the Yorkies until Liam Livingstone has enough and flex his muscles with a biggie out of the ground.

    Brings up the 100.

    Lancashire 91-2 (11 overs) v Yorkshire

Third over from Rashid and you can tell he has got the respect of the batters.

Salt and Livingstone take few chances until the opener smashes one into the Party Stand.

A rare lapse from Rashid with only four runs from the other five balls.

    South Group update

In the South Group Hampshire have started brilliantly against Middlesex, reducing them to 14-2 after three overs.

Kent are going well, they're 24-0 at home to Essex, also after three, with England's Zak Crawley batting.

Gloucestershire are 76-2 against Sussex at the halfway mark. Glamorgan are 67-2 at Surrey also after 10.

    Lancashire 81-2 (10 overs) v Yorkshire

Shadab continues, while a beer snake starts to be constructed in the Party Stand.

Four singles and a two from the over. Salt now 40 not out, Livingstone on two.

Halfway through the Lancashire innings now. They would love another 100 runs from here.

  15. Postpublished at 19:08 British Summer Time 27 May 2022

    Lancashire 75-2 (9 overs) v Yorkshire

    Great stuff from Rashid.

Three runs and a wicket from his six balls. Captain's dream.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 8.3 overs

    Croft c Brook b Rashid 13 (Lancashire 73-2 v Yorkshire)

    No mistake this time!

Steven Croft sends another one up high and new England Test call-up Harry Brook pouches it very easily.

    In comes Liam Livingstone.

  17. Postpublished at 19:04 British Summer Time 27 May 2022

    Lancashire 71-1 (8 overs) v Yorkshire

Bowler number six for the visitors in Jordan Thompson. Not sure how the hairband will go down in these parts, though. He'll find out if he fields close to the boundary I'm pretty certain...

Two wides, not ideal. Leg-stump yorker - much better Thommo!

He should have a wicket too, when Steven Croft skies it but it lands safely between Dawid Malan and Shadab Khan.

    North Group update

Worcestershire have lost a couple more wickets at Notts to fall to 68-3 off eight overs.

Elsewhere in the North Group, Chris Lynn is on 41 not out for Northants who have raced to 78-0 against Durham after eight.

And Birmingham's match with Derbyshire has just started. The Bears are batting first.

  19. Adil into the attackpublished at 18:59 British Summer Time 27 May 2022

    Lancashire 64-1 (7 overs) v Yorkshire

The powerplay is over and Adil Rashid is into the Yorkshire attack immediately.

The White Rose really are fortunate to have one of the best white-ball bowlers in the world at their disposal.

Two dots to start before Salt smokes one. Six off the over and a real degree of control from Rashid.

  20. Postpublished at 18:56 British Summer Time 27 May 2022

    Lancashire 58-1 (6 overs) v Yorkshire

There's no time to get your rhythm in T20 cricket as Root has a change of ends for Shadab Khan.

Imagine if the bowling changed every over in a Test match!

Dom Bess launches into a despairing dive at mid-wicket in front of the diggers, but he can't stop Steven Croft hitting his first boundary.

    End of the powerplay.
