    Northants v Lancs 88-3

Another great set from Northants with only six from Tom Taylor’s over.

Even with a boundary from Steven Croft, his first.

  2. 6 runs

    Middlesex 105-4

It's been a while since Middlesex hit a six but Luke Hollman supplies one as he slashes Jamie Overton to backward point to bring up the Middlesex 100.

The next ball is a slower one but a thick edge runs away fine for four. Eight an over from here would see Middlesex to 161. They will want more.

  3. Postpublished at 12 overs

    Middlesex 95-4

Good over by Sunil Narine and great work by Ollie Pope on the boundary as he dives full length to deny Jack Davies a boundary after the left-hander sweeps to mid-wicket.

  4. Postpublished at 12 overs

    Northants v Lancs 82-3

Excellent from Graeme White, just five singles and a wicket.

Graeme White changes ends and strikes!

Big wicket with Dane Vilas gone, trying to up the tempo.

Great bit of bowling from Chris Jordan.

He has rolled that off the outside of his fingers.

He's bowled it so early and John Simpson has spooned it out to Jamie Overton at mid-off.

  7. Postpublished at 11 overs

    Middlesex 90-4

Luke Hollman sees the ball fizz past the edge from the first ball he faces, but manages to guide the next to third man for one. Good over by Chris Jordan, which brought Surrey a fourth wicket.

    Simpson c Overton b Jordan 25 (Middlesex 89-4)

Time for Surrey skipper Chris Jordan to turn his arm over.

John Simpson square cuts but the ball falls just short of the fielder at backward point. He tries it again next ball and this time top edges fine for four - hardly convincing, though.

The next one bounces higher and Simpson tries to pull but he doesn't make a clean contact and the ball spoons to Jamie Overton at mid-off.

  9. Postpublished at 11 overs

    Northants v Lancs 77-2

Jimmy Neesham back into the attack and gives up only four singles then a couple to Steven Croft.

A single rounds out the over.

  10. Postpublished at 10 overs

    Middlesex 84-3

Nice improvisation by Jack Davies, who reverse sweeps Sunil Narine's first ball for four.

Narine has an unusual slingy action, which obviously serves him well as he has 445 T20 wickets, but John Simpson utilises an orthodox sweep to collect the second boundary of the over.

He is 21 not out and Davies has 13.

  11. Postpublished at 10 overs

    Northants v Lancs 70-2

Steven Croft struggling to get going alongside Dane Vilas.

    He’s 12 from 17 balls.

Vilas hoists the final ball of the 10th over the ropes.

Lancashire with work to do at halfway.

Light relief for Durham as Scott Borthwick has bowled Finn Allen for 48 to leave Yorkshire 105-1 after 8.2 overs.

Elswehere, Leicestershire are on top against Worcestershire, reducing the Rapids to 54-4 after eight overs.

And Rilee Roussouw is leading the Somerset recovery against Gloucestershire, unbeaten on 32 with his side 66-3 nearing the halfway point.

  13. Postpublished at 9 overs

    Middlesex 73-3

Jamie Overton overpitches and John Simpson belts the ball back past him for four.

Overton is certainly working up some pace and new batter Jack Davies miscues a pull shot as a single ends the over.

Sunil Narine will bowl the next over.

    Surrey v Middlesex 73-3

    Kevin Hand

It's a horrible mix-up and Stevie Eskinazi turns and screams at John Simpson.

I can see why Simpson says no but I guess Eskinazi says, 'that's my call!'

  15. Postpublished at 9 overs

    Northants v Lancs 60-2

Dane Vilas has had enough pondering.

He takes Graeme White for the night’s first six at the start of the ninth.

But White recovers to limit the damage.

Eskinazi run out 25 (Middlesex 65-3)

Chris Jordan continues to hold himself and Sunil Narine in reserve as Will Jacks returns for his second over.

It's a decent one too after an opening wide and Middlesex lose their third wicket as Stevie Eskinazi calls for a single after square cutting and John Simpson turns him down.

No chance of recovering his ground as Ollie Pope arrows in the throw and Eskinazi is gone.

Freddie Heldreich into the attack and a superb start from the left-arm leg-spinner.

Just four from it and Lancashire are pondering a little here.

As is often the case, Graeme White’s left-arm spin takes over straight after the powerplay.

    He goes for only seven.

It's clearly a night for batting at Chester-le-Street, where Adam Lyth and Finn Allen continue to make hay.

Yorkshire are 91-0 off seven overs, with both batters closing in on 50s.

Birmingham Bears are also still going along nicely at Trent Bridge at 73-1 off seven, with Sam Hain and Rob Yates both scoring freely.

    Middlesex 59-2

Here comes Jamie Overton - bet he's excited about the possibility of a Test debut in the third Test against New Zealand.

He's certainly bending his back and is unlucky as Stevie Eskinazi swings wildly and edges over the keeper for four.

Fine fielding by Gus Atkinson denies Eskinazi another four in the same area before John Simpson ends the over with one to long leg.
