  2. 'We were a five out of 10'published at 15:43 British Summer Time 25 October 2022

Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka: "We started well but in the middle overs we didn't get going so we would have missed around 15 or 20 runs.

"The fast bowlers are not well prepared and have injuries so that's why we're struggling with injuries now.

"It was tough with the new ball and it's too hard to get going. It was in the latter part of the game Australia played really well.

"We were five out of 10 today."

  4. 'Stoinis' innings was pretty special'published at 15:39 British Summer Time 25 October 2022

Australia captain Aaron Finch: "We're very happy. My innings was unusual and poor. I just couldn't hit the ball. I thought the way we approached it with the bat was fine. We knew the first four or five overs would be tough. It would have been nice if I'd been able to kick on a bit earlier.

"They bowled a hard length, it was tough. It is such a big ground you feel like it is just hard to stand and deliver especially with a little bit of extra bounce and the ball is seaming a little bit. That is no excuse for the way I played but it was nice to get the win.

On Marcus Stoinis: "It was a pretty special innings. To come out with that intent is the main thing, when you come out with that presence it is one of main things in T20 cricket and with his power, that makes him pretty hard to stop."

  5. 'I was nervous playing at my home ground'published at 15:34 British Summer Time 25 October 2022

Australia batter Marcus Stoinis: "Once I got in the plan was to keep going. To be honest, I was nervous being at home with lots of family and friends but really happy with what I put out there.

"Mentally, I was nice and fresh. I had some time off and so far so good.

"We played here at Perth the other day against England and it's a beautiful ground and got a beautiful wicket. Australia have got the technology and lighting going and it's my home ground.

"We wrap this game up and look forward to playing England at the MCG on Friday. They are a very good team and we'll do our homework and go from there."

Australia didn't hit a boundary in the first seven overs of their chase, but then a flick was switched and they started to attack.

There were some lusty blows, and Mitchell Marsh, Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell all chipped in.
