That's huge! What a blow from Maxwell.

    Target 158

Glenn Maxwell only knows one way to play.

He follows the six with a reverse sweep, that despite losing his balance, has enough on to beat short third and run away for four.

That is pure power, though. He goes deep in the crease and whacks Hasaranga back down the ground for another six. Maxwell is up to 22 off six balls.

Hasaranga has gone for 34 from his two overs. Not ideal.

    Shot.

Wanindu Hasaranga throws it up, but it's in Glenn Maxwell's arc and the right-hander just plants it five rows back over the bowler's head.

Big Show Glenn Maxwell is the new batter.

He picks up his first boundary off the final ball of the over, by going deep in his crease and pulling away between deep mid-wicket and long-on.

Sri Lanka will need wickets in order to win this, I suspect.

Rajapaksa was perfectly placed and Marsh is caught out at long-off.

    One big shot too many.

Mitchell Marsh looks to try and hit Dhananjaya de Silva over mid-wicket, but doesn't connect well at all. The bat turns in his hand and it ends up being a pretty comfortable catch for Bhanuka Rajapaksa.

Mitchell goes for 18 off 17 balls.

Finch goes big as well! Two mighty blows off two different bowlers and batters.

Aaron Finch is coming to play now.

The Australia skipper just plants Dhananjaya de Silva about 10 rows back over long-on.

    Lovely shot.

Huge over for Marsh who has dominated that and it's shifted the momentum for Australia.

Hello. Mitchell Marsh has come to town.

It's not a great delivery from Wanindu Hasaranga, and Marsh slaps the low full toss back down the ground for the first six of the chase.

Hasaranga is a key bowler for Sri Lanka - that looked like a pretty deliberate tactic to try and unsettle him.

  12. Aus 43-1published at 7.2 overs

    Target 158

    A BOUNDARY! Finally.

Mitchell Marsh goes deep in his crease and cracks away a pull off Wanindu Hasaranga to the mid-wicket fence.

    Good power.

  13. Aus 38-1published at 7 overs

    Target 158

Australia just can't get going at the moment.

Mitchell Marsh again goes for a big shot, but only succeeds in slicing it into a gap in the point region.

Australia failed to hit a boundary in the powerplay by the way. That is the first time that's happened to Australia in a men's T20 international.

    Oh no!

Mitchell Marsh gets down and slog sweeps Dhananjaya de Silva, but it is more top edge than anything.

Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanka goes haring after it, and has to try take it over his shoulder, but the ball pops out.

Does his left foot slip as he goes to take the catch? Possibly.

  15. Aus 33-1published at 6 overs

Oh! More movement for Chamika Karunaratne and the ball ends up lodged between Mitchell Marsh's legs.

The pair share a smile and pat on the shoulder.

That's the end of the powerplay. Sri Lanka have edged that.

It's going over the stumps by an inch or so.

    Mitchell Marsh survives.

It has hit Mitchell Marsh on the back leg, but it's on the thigh pad.

    Too high, surely?

It looked too high to me...

Mitchell Marsh is the new batter by the way.

A brilliant over from Maheesh Theekshana, just two runs conceded alongside that wicket.

Australia need 130 more from 15 overs. The hosts and defending champions realistically need to win to have hopes of progressing after their opening-game defeat.

Wonderfully caught at cover and Warner goes. Maheesh makes his trademark bow and arrow celebration.
