  1. Aus 126-3published at 15 overs

    Need 32 off 30 balls

Marcus Stoinis works a single into the covers to end the over.

Wanindu Hasaranga, who is the third-ranked bowler in T20 cricket, has gone for 53 off his three overs. Australia have taken him apart.

  2. 6 runs

    Aus 125-3published at 14.5 overs

    Need 33 from 31 balls

    He's gone again! It's even bigger too - 101m!

He just clears the front leg and whacks it miles back.

The ball in between went for four down the ground too.

  3. 6 runs

    Aus 115-3published at 14.3 overs

    Need 43 from 33 balls

Wanindu Hasaranga is having a shocker.

He drops far too short again and Marcus Stoinis crashes away a 96m six over mid-wicket.

    Have a bit of that.

The run chase now looks palatable for Australia.

  5. Aus 107-3published at 14 overs

    Need 51 from 36 balls

These runs will help Australia. Dasun Shanaka strays onto the pads of Marcus Stoinis, and the right-hander gloves the ball fine for four.

Back-to-back boundaries too as a thick outside edge races away.

It feels like Australia are ahead at the moment.

  8. Aus 97-3published at 13 overs

    Need 61 from 42 balls

Marcus Stoinis is the new man in the middle and he's started well.

A brilliant piece of running brings him two into the leg side, before he just steers Chamika Karunaratne to the boundary between the wicketkeeper and third.

Who are the favourites at this stage? It's close.

That's a very good catch at the boundary. It was looking like it would go for six but Bandara has done a tap dance and managed to keep his feet within the boundary. Maxwell goes.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 12.2 overs

    Maxwell c Bandara b Karunaratne 23 (Aus 89-3)

Immediate redemption for Ashen Bandara. This is a brilliant catch!

Glenn Maxwell looks to pull away over mid-wicket, but the substitute fielder takes an absolute blinder on the rope.

It's over his head, so he has to reach to take the catch, and then balance himself to stay within the field of play.

He shows fancy footwork to not step onto the boundary sponges too. Brilliant awareness.

Bandara has three bites at it and it's put down at mid-wicket and Finch gets a life on 23 runs.

  12. dropped catch

Finch dropped on 23published at 12.1 overs

    Aus 89-2

Sri Lanka really need to start taking their chances.

Aaron Finch skies one in the air and substitute fielder Ashen Bandara gets there, but drops it.

He tries to get it on the second and third attempt, but neither stick!

Mitchell Marsh was just starting to get going for Australia before he was dismissed.

  14. Aus 88-2published at 12 overs

    Need 70 off 48 balls

A single and a leg bye end the over.

Only three runs have been added since the drinks break.

But, at 8.47, the required run-rate is manageable.

    Target 158

There is a huge red mark just above the collarbone, where Glenn Maxwell has been hit, but he's going to be OK to continue.

He looks to lap the next ball away, but misses.

  16. ouch!

    Aus 86-2published at 11.3 overs

    Target 158

    Glenn Maxwell is down.

He gets in a tangle as he looks to pull Lahiru Kumara away. It ends up hitting him on the side of the neck/lower jaw.

He runs off towards third, before going to the ground. Sri Lanka players run straight over and the medical staff come on.

  17. Aus 86-2published at 11.2 overs

    Target 158

Glenn Maxwell isn't happy that Lahiru Kumara isn't pulled up for a bouncer.

He stares at Richard Illingworth at square leg, before Marais Erasmus is in his firing line. The South African umpire just laughs.

    Maxwell isn't laughing.

  18. Aus 86-2published at 11 overs

    Target 158

A good over from Maheesh Theekshana, conceding just a wide from it.

Aaron Finch has 23 off 33 balls so far, Glenn Maxwell has 22 off six balls. Contrasting.

Hasaranga is not hitting the stumps. I would love to see him go a bit faster into the wicket and make the Australia batters do something different.

It's time for a drink in Perth.

We're being treated to a light show during it too. Spectacular.

Australia will need 73 off 60 balls when we resume.
