Pakistan captain Babar Azam: "I am very happy with the performance with bat and ball.

"Our bowling length was crucial on a fast pitch with bounce. All our bowlers stuck to our plans and executed hem.

"To be honest I think we could have chased down the score without losing three or four wickets. But a win always gives you confidence and we take good things into our next matches."

Netherlands captain Scott Edwards: "I still think batting first was the right decision to make, we haven't batted first all tournament so we felt if we got a score on the board, we'd give our bowlers a chance to defend it but we just weren't good enough on the day."

On the batting: "I think in general it was pretty poor. We were on 15 or so after the powerplay and just never recover, couldn't build partnerships and find boundaries.

"It was 90 on a decent wicket so it is always going to be difficult to defend."

The big thing for me was the intent from Pakistan. It was great to see them come out after a disappointing loss to Zimbabwe. They came back and learnt from the other night.

Player of the match Shadab Khan: ""It was a true pitch. I just bowled to a simple plan on the stumps.

"All the bowlers bowled great because they put the pressure on in the powerplay. It's a team game. Some take the pressure and others take the wickets.

"It is a horrible feeling when you go in to bat with only a few runs remaining but it is great because the last couple of games we weren't able to finish the game off, but today we did that."

Pakistan started really well with Shaheen Afridi setting the tone and that led to them restricting Netherlands to 91.

Then they came out with the bat and Mohammad Rizwan was simply brilliant, hitting beautiful on drives and setting up the victory.

That would have been an absolute screamer. He is only 15m from the bat and it's been crunched at him. That was an unbelievable effort.

It would have been a heck of a catch. It was absolutely smoked by Iftikhar Ahmed.

That would have been a contender for catch of the tournament!

Iftikhar Ahmed has smashed the ball towards Logan van Beek at backward point. Van Beek dives to his left and gets a hand on it, but the ball bounces agonisingly out his grasp.

    Unlucky.
