I haven't seen any swing so far.

The other night it looked like Shaheen Shah Afridi was just putting the ball down, but it looks like there is a little bit more behind it tonight.

  2. Ned 2-0published at 1 over

Very good first over from Shaheen, just two from it and only one off the bat - the other was a leg side wide.

Not too much aggression shown by the Netherlands openers as yet but then Shaheen didn't really give them the opportunity.

  3. Ned 0-0published at 0.2 overs

Shaheen Afridi finds the edge second ball as Stephan Myburgh goes after a ball just outside off.

It's an under edge, though, and drops well short of Mohammad Rizwan behind the stumps.

It is blustery at Perth. The wind will swirl around the stadium today - it'll make the high ones tough to take.

Shaheen Afridi has the new ball in hand and Stephan Myburgh will face the first ball. Here we go...

The teams are out at the Perth Stadium and the national anthems have been sung. We're just a few moments away from the start of this one.

Pakistan are clear favourites to end their losing streak but given the number of upsets we've seen in this tournament already, they will not be taking Netherlands lightly.

As it stands, Netherlands and Pakistan are the only two sides in the Super 12 still without a point.

That means they have both avoided the rain that has impacted so many teams, although Pakistan in particular might think a couple of washouts would have been preferable to the two incredibly dramatic defeats they have suffered so far.

Babar Azam calls 'tails', the coin comes down 'heads' and Scott Edwards decides top have first use of this Perth surface.

Stephan Myburgh, Brandon Glover, Roelof van der Merwe come back in for Netherlands, while Haider Ali is replaced by Fakhar Zaman in the Pakistan XI.

After a very dramatic finish to the early game between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, this one has a lot to live up to!

Both Netherlands and Pakistan are searching for their first win of the Super 12 stage, the latter after suffering consecutive heart-wrenching last-ball defeats.

Even with a win today, it is going to take a ridiculous series of results elsewhere to see either of these teams progress but all they can do is win their games and see what happens.

Anyway, onto news of the toss...
