  1. Pakistan need 92 to winpublished at 08:50 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2022

Well, it wasn't a vintage batting display from Netherlands. That said, Pakistan bowled very well and it is now over to their batters to knock off the runs. It really shouldn't be much trouble.

I'll hand you over to Tom Mallows for what could be a fairly quick Pakistan innings.

Pakistan came out with great intent. They started with a great line and length and were bowling with great pace. They took regular wickets and that just stemmed any Netherlands momentum.

The Netherlands just needed to find more ways to rotate the strike because they have ended up with a very below par score.

That was a good throw from the deep and it was collected nicely by Mohammad Rizwan.

  4. wicket

Van Meekeran run out (Shadab) 7 (Ned 91-9)

Paul van Meekeran tries to get back for two from the final ball of the innings. The throw from long-on is right on the money and Mohammad Rizwan takes the bails with the batter not even in the shot.

Pakistan were very impressive with the ball. Netherlands' batting was rather less impressive.

It has been a very tough afternoon for the Netherlands. Pakistan have bowled with pace and their control has been exceptional.

  6. Ned 86-8published at 19 overs

Van Meerkeren does more than most of his Netherlands team-mates in successfully getting bat on ball with a pair of aggressive shots to end the Wasim over.

He gets two for the first of them, carved through backward point, before nailing the next through the covers. It takes a good stop on the rope to deny him a boundary. they do get back for three though.

It just angled too much. The length was a little shorter then, almost half-volley length, and it just angled past leg stump.

  8. Ned 81-8published at 18.4 overs

So close to the hat-trick! Wasim went for the yorker again - and why not? - didn't quite nail it this time but Paul van Meekeren took a wild swing, misses and the ball whistles a centimetre past leg stump.

There's an optimistic appeal for caught behind but nothing doing.

It was almost a carbon copy.

You won't get many better chances to take a hat-trick than bowling at a number 10.

There is a leap of joy from Mohammad Wasim. Can he become the first Pakistan bowler to take a hat-trick in a T20 World Cup?

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18.3 overs

    Klaassen b Wasim 0 (Ned 81-8)

Two in two! Wasim is on a hat-trick after another brilliant yorker.

Fred Klaassen tries and fails to dig it out. The ball was too fast and too accurate, and cannoned into middle.

It was fast and it was full and it cannoned into the base of middle-leg stump.

It has been an impressive bowling display from Pakistan.

It was another swing from Tim Pringle but this time there was nothing wide about the delivery.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18.2 overs

    Pringle b Wasim 5 (Ned 81-7)

Bowled 'im! Mohammad Wasim nails his yorker and lights up the zing bails.

Tim Pringle had given himself plenty of room to try and swipe through the off side. He missed, Wasim hit and Netherlands are seven down.

  15. Ned 79-6published at 18 overs

Two overs to go. It'll take some going for Netherlands to reach 100 now. It has been a very tough innings for them.

Shaheen Afridi finishes with figures of 1-19 from his four overs.

That was a tough chance, especially in the swirling breeze.

  17. dropped catch

Pringle dropped on threepublished at 17.5 overs

    Ned 79-6

Tim Pringle tries to launch Shaheen Afridi over the top. He doesn't get all of it, though, and Babar Azam runs back from mid-off to try and take the catch.

However, with the wind swirling and the ball dropping over his shoulders, he can't get his hands to it and Pringle survives.

  18. Ned 74-6published at 17 overs

Logan van Beek, the concussion sub, is the new man for Netherlands and - quite remarkably - chooses to leave his second ball. In a T20. With a smidge over three overs left in the innings. And his team on 73. An interesting choice.

Thankfully for the batting side, Van Beek does play at the last delivery and clips a single to leg.

He was beaten for pace there. It was a good length and it hit the stumps - it just went straight through Roeloef van der Merwe.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.3 overs

van der Merwe b Rauf 5 (Ned 73-6)

Comprehensively bowled! Very quick from Haris Rauf, an ugly heave from Roelof van der Merwe and the ball crashes into middle and leg well before the batter is through the shot/ hack.

This has not been a pretty innings for Netherlands and that wicket really sums it up.
