    Wade b Farooqi 6 (Aus 155-6)

    Fazal Farooqi nails the yorker!

Matthew Wade was trying to create a bit of room for himself but could do nothing with it as Farooqi got the delivery right in the blockhole.

Wade misses, Farooqi hits and the zing bails light up.

That is a world class effort from Rashid Khan. That is so unlucky and he looks so angry with himself.

  4. 6 runs

    Aus 152-5published at 17.1 overs

So unlucky for Rashid Khan! Maxwell nails Farooqi over the leg side, Rashid runs around the boundary, jumps to take the catch as the ball is going over the rope, flicks it back behind his back... but it hits his foot and it's six.

Useful runs for Australia but nearly a stunning bit of work from Rashid.

  5. Aus 146-5published at 17 overs

    Maxwell 35, Wade 5

Naveen does get out of the over, singles from the last two balls with Maxwell switch-hitting the last but not really timing it, and that makes it just three in total.

Excellent from the seamer in his first appearance of the tournament.

  6. Aus 144-5published at 16.4 overs

Fantastic first four balls from Naveen-ul-Haq. He's completely bamboozled Maxwell and Wade with his changes of pace.

Can he get out of the over unscathed?

Here's the fourth Australia wicket to fall. Mitchell Marsh skying an attempted sweep shot off Mujeeb to depart for 45.

  8. Aus 143-5published at 16 overs

Matthew Wade - Australia captain for the day - is off the mark with a boundary. He reverse sweeps his second ball and gets it up and just over short third for four. Lovely shot.

He wants a single from the last ball, too, but Maxwell is unmoved. Wade holds his arms out, bemused by his partner's refusal to take what looked like a fairly comfortable single.

Rashid Khan picks up his first wicket of the day at his home ground.

Frustration for Stoinis as he's had some good shots in this tournament.

Stoinis c Usman b Rashid Khan (Aus 139-5)

    Breakthrough! Afghanistan needed that.

Marcus Stoinis was on the drive, got a thick outside edge and the ball looped nicely into the hands of backward point.

A first wicket of the day for Rashid Khan on his home ground.

Six more! Dragged down by Rashid and Stoinis rocks back and pulls the ball into the stands. Big hit!

This inning from Maxwell shows just why is he a gamechanger.

  13. Aus 133-4published at 15 overs

    Stoinis 19, Maxwell 33

Glenn Maxwell is really starting to get going now. He nails a drive over cover, one bounce for four as Australia take 12 from the Gulbadin over.

Five overs to go. The hosts are still on for a big score.

Great shot, just back of a length. Maxwell has a good start to this over.

  15. Aus 127-4published at 14.1 overs

Banged into the pitch by Gulbadin and Maxwell can just sit back and hammer it flat over deep mid-wicket for six!

Naveen-ul-Haq also has a couple of overs left after removing David Warner and Steve Smith in the space of a few balls earlier on.

The Warner wicket in particular is well worth a watch - I'm still not entirely sure what he thought he was doing.

  17. Aus 121-4published at 14 overs

    Stoinis 18, Marsh 22

Maxwell adds another boundary with a superb reverse sweep in front of square as Australia take nine from the over.

Rashid Khan has one over left, Australia have six overs to try and push up to 180 or 190.

  18. Aus 120-4published at 13.4 overs

Rashid Khan is furious as Afghanistan concede yet another overthrow. This one comes as the fielder hits the stumps with his throw from inside the circle.

That's all well and good but the batter hadn't left his crease.

  19. Not outpublished at 13.1 overs

    Aus 113-4

Impact was well outside the line. The first replay suggested as much and everyone is back in position by the time the official verdict comes down from the third umpire.

  20. Afghanistan reviewpublished at 13.1 overs

    Aus 113-4

Big appeal for lbw as Rashid Khan hits Marcus Stoinis on the front pad as the batter attempted a reverse paddle.

The umpire is unmoved but Afghanistan send it upstairs.
