    Rohit 23, Kohli 22

Tidy stuff from Adil Rashid, just five singles conceded from his second over.

It feels like the game is very even at the moment. It's just teetering.

England have got to be careful here, they can't go too full to Virat. He loves it there because he is so good with his hands, he can manipulate the ball wherever he wants.

England had both fielders out there but that was hit as straight as straight can be.

  4. Ind 46-1published at 7 overs

Interesting. Jos Buttler opts to give Liam Livingstone the ball as soon as the powerplay comes to an end.

He's greeted by a glorious straight drive for four by Virat Kohli. He looks ominous for England, I'm going to be honest. He looks in very good nick.

I remember once Adil Rashid bowling Virat with a beauty and it went viral, didn't it?

There was that reaction of, "How dare anyone bowl Virat Kohli?"

  6. Ind 38-1published at 6 overs

    "Catchhh", shouts Jos Buttler.

Rohit Sharma looks to work down the ground, but skews it a little bit and there is half a catching opportunity for Adil Rashid, but it was too low down to his left and he wasn't able to gather.

End of the powerplay. Honours even, I'd say.

It's a brave call to have Rashid bowling this one.

As a spinner here, you've got to make the batters play you straight.

High risk, high reward for Rohit Sharma. Had he missed that, it's hitting middle stump.

It looks like India want to make their mark on the last over of the powerplay.

  9. Ind 35-1published at 5.3 overs

Adil Rashid is going to bowl the final over of the powerplay.

His first ball is swept to the square-leg boundary by Rohit Sharma, but two dot balls follow.

Rashid hasn't been in the wickets in this tournament, but he's been economical.

Here's the wicket of KL Rahul.

It was a lovely ball from Chris Woakes.

  11. Ind 31-1published at 5 overs

An eventful over ends with 10 coming off.

Sam Curran comes back well with two dot balls to end the over.

Sweet Caroline is playing around the Adelaide Oval already. It's a bit early for that, no?

They either stick or they don't, but it's definitely saved a boundary. It was hit so hard, it would have been an absolutely world class catch.

Did Brook get a hand to it? It was just ever so slightly out of his reach. It's another "If only" moment.

  14. dropped catch

Rohit dropped on 13published at 4.4 overs

    Oh!

Rohit Sharma slashes hard at a cut shot and Harry Brook flies through the air.

He gets his right hand to the ball, but it pops out and goes to ground.

It would have been a spectacular catch, so it is probably more three runs saved.

It's a pretty filthy hack but it's effective!

Rohit didn't get hold of that but it's clear he's going after the short boundary.

  17. Ind 30-1published at 4.3 overs

I may have gone a little early in saying that Rohit Sharma looks out of touch.

He clubs over mid-wicket for four, before pulling, on one leg, through the same region for another boundary.

I sense he's decided it's time to go.

It has still been a very good start for England. The fifth over is usually the hardest one to bowl so this shows their trust in Curran.

Decent comeback from Chris Woakes with three singles and a wide following that first-ball six.

Rohit Sharma looks out of touch at the moment. He tries to whip the final ball into the leg side but just toe-ends to mid-wicket.
