It just shows when you're playing against someone like Virat Kohli that there is just no margin for error.

If you overpitch, he'll capitalise and that's what he has done to Chris Woakes. It wasn't a bad ball but it's just a few inches to full, that's all.

    That is absolutely magnificent.

England put in a second slip, pressure supposedly on, but no chance.

Kohli has arrived and so have the flags. It’s a sea of blue, green and orange.

    Oh my.

England put a second slip in to Virat Kohli and he responds by playing an outrageous drive over for the covers for six off Chris Woakes.

    An absolutely unreal shot.

The England physio came on between overs there. It looked like he gave a tablet to Moeen Ali.

That's the first time we've seen them try and go after that short boundary.

England won't mind seeing that, Rohit trying to force something.

  7. Ind 11-1published at 3 overs

Lovely start from Sam Curran, conceding just a single to Virat Kohli.

There's an appeal for lbw against Rohit Sharma, but it was pitching outside leg stump and Jos Buttler doesn't even entertain any conversation about the review.

This has been a very good start by England.

This is the key period because Kohli does always start slowly. England have got a great opportunity to get him early before he accelerates.

Oh, Virat Kohli. When it's your day...

Sam Curran will bowl the third over, as has often been the case in this tournament.

He's bowling that angle across Virat Kohli. He beats the edge first up, before drawing it, but it drops well short of Moeen Ali at slip.

    A good start from Curran.

    All eyes on Virat Kohli.

  12. Ind 10-1published at 2 overs

A certain Virat Kohli is the new batter. He's racked up 246 runs in this tournament already.

Make that 247 as he gets off the mark with a push down to mid-on. Good running.

It's that back of a length delivery again, which you have to really commit to on this ground because the short square boundaries.

Jos Buttler has done well there, anticipating the extra bounce.

Oh, bit of bounce! That went through quickly, Woakes really bent his back there.

Buttler's taking it at neck height.

    Breakthrough!

Chris Woakes finds some extra bounce and KL Rahul can't help but have a play at it.

He's never in control of the shot, with the ball on the rise, and edges through to Jos Buttler, who takes the catch at neck height.

    A good start for England.

    Can he find more movement?

It's disappointing for Mark Wood but we know that Chris Jordan can also be such a presence in the field. He is an incredible fielder.

Oh! There's a little bit of movement there for Ben Stokes at the moment.

It manages to beat the defence of a prodding KL Rahul, before he drives to mid-off to end the over.

    A decent start for England.

A single apiece for KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma follow the first-ball boundary.

    It's noisy in Adelaide.
