England captain Jos Buttler: "There's a lot of excitement, it's obviously going to be a fantastic atmosphere at one of the best grounds in the world.

"It doesn't make a difference [not having played in Adelaide yet]. But we know we will have to adapt to the dimensions of the ground quickly.

"Dawid Malan and Mark Wood are missing out, so Chris Jordan and Phil Salt have come in.

"It looks a good wicket, hopefully it will stay consistent throughout the game."

That's an interesting call from Jos Buttler considering how England have looked in chases against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in this tournament so far.

Their most complete performance came against New Zealand when they defended a total.

It's a big call from Buttler and England.

  8. Wood & Malan out for Englandpublished at 07:25 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November 2022

We'll start with some breaking team news for England.

Batter Dawid Malan and bowler Mark Wood are both not fit to take any part in this semi-final.

Malan suffered a groin injury in the final group game against Sri Lanka, while Wood has taken a limited part in training because of general body soreness.

Speaking yesterday, England captain Jos Buttler said both would be given "as long as possible" to prove their fitness.

Lancashire's Phil Salt is likely to come in for Malan, while David Willey, Tymal Mills and Chris Jordan will compete for Wood's place.
