Ben Duckett loves spin bowling, so he relished facing Jake Lintott.

This is what makes Ben Duckett so hard to bowl at as a spinner, he's got so many different types of sweep shot.

  3. Fire 76-5published at Ball 70

Hmmmm, that 10-ball set didn't really work out in the end.

The final five contained three boundaries - all swept away by Ben Duckett - and that gives us an indication of how difficult it is to bowl 10 balls in a row at this level.

It allows the batter to line up the bowler and they become used to it as time goes on.

Lintott finishes with one wicket, for 27 runs, from his 20 balls.

Theo Bowyer: Chaps, the aim in The Hundred is not to score a 100 off a 100 balls.

  5. Fire 66-5published at Ball 66

Oh, a change in approach from James Vince and Southern Brave.

We had seen bowlers exclusively bowling five balls in a row so far but Jake Lintott stays on for 10 in a row.

Will the approach work? Well the sixth ball of the set is swept away for four. That is the first boundary in 26 balls.

I'm frustrated, I'd rather be out there with the boys but they're clearly not missing me - they're doing really well so far. Hopefully I'll be back out there before too long.

Welsh Fire have called for a strategic time out.

What is there coach going to say to them here?

    "Score some more runs please"?

Maybe we should have had the double play in the Hundred? That showed it could have been a lot of fun.

It was more like a scene from a village game than The Hundred. It was just a comedy of errors before a good bit of work from Fuller to take the bails off.

Cobb run out (Davies) 5 (Fire 55-5)

He's just short of his ground!

This is pretty village from Welsh Fire to be honest.

There is confusion in the run and Josh Cobb and Ben Duckett practically bump into each other in the middle of the pitch.

Cobb starts to turn round, ducks slightly to avoid being hit by the throw by James Fuller, and then Ben Duckett overtakes him and makes his ground at the striker's end as Alex Davies looks to take off the bails.

Davies throws it down to the other end and James Fuller gathers and runs out Cobb. He just about has the ball in his hand as he knocks the bails off.

    Chaos.

    Fire 55-4

Has Josh Cobb been run out?

There was confusion from the Welsh Fire batters and there were run out chances at both ends!

This could take some time to sort out.

  14. Fire 55-4published at Ball 55

Another really tidy set from James Lintott. He's conceded just nine runs from his first 10 balls. Each bowler is allowed to bowl up to 20 balls, remember.

What is Fire's approach going to be from here? Surely we'll see some shots? It's better to be bowled out for 90, looking for 130, than trudging to 100.

Southern Brave's Chris Jordan on player mic: "Everything is going well so far. We just need to keep the tempo up, not take the position for granted.

On James Vince's drop: "That was a tough chance, tough chance."

Duckett dropped on 19published at Ball 51

    Oh!

Southern Brave captain James Vince drops one as a Ben Duckett loops one up.

It was a tough chance with Vince going backwards and the ball always slightly just feeling slightly out of reach over his head.

Rehan Ahmed is a quietly confident kid. He bowls a good pace, leggies, googlies and there is just something about him. He's lively in the field and can bat a bit, too. Hopefully he's got a good future ahead of him.

Oh, this is exciting. Our first look at 17-year-old leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed.

He was part of the England under-19 team that won the World Cup last year and aged 13, he dismissed former England Test captains Alastair Cook and Joe Root and current captain Ben Stokes in a training session at Lord's in 2016.

It's a tidy start, conceding just five runs. Brave aren't giving Fire a sniff.

Jake Lintott is an intense character. He's worked hard to get to the highest stage. I've played club cricket with him, and he treats every game like it's a World Cup final.
