McDermott 23 Pollard 0
WHAT A BALL. Right into the toes. I think I can hear Pollard's toes as they all break and he's down. Wow - it takes a lot to do that!

The dangerous Morgan goes and a very important breakthrough for the Trent Rockets.
Morgan c Sams b Patel 27 (Spirit 86-4)
Great catch above his head on the boundary by Sams and the dangerous Morgan has gone. Morgan cloths it and that is such a breakthrough. But it does bring Pollard to the crease and we know what he can do.
Rashid Khan makes a meal of that. Full toss hit straight to him and he's dropped McDermott.

Bit of momentum now for the London Spirit.
McDermott 22, Morgan 26
Morgan digs out the yorker and manages to thread it down to deep backward point for four. It's a lovely touch from the former England captain.
To rub salt into Rashid Khan's wounds the Afghanistan bowler can't quite get to the ball at mid-on as Morgan drives in the air back down the ground. I don't think it quite got to him but it was half a chance.
Time for a strategic time out.

Monster hit from Morgan!
McDermott 20, Morgan 19
That has gone a long way into the crowd on the leg side. Lovely timing from Morgan who grits his teeth and takes on Rashid Khan.
And then again. BUT BIGGER!
Back-to-back sizes off Rashid Khan?! It could only be Eoin Morgan.
McDermott 19 Morgan 7
This surface is definitely doing something. Morgan swats at the slower ball bouncer but like a pesky fly it evades him and goes through to the keeper.
McDermott later smacks two back so straight they both hit the stumps. Is the stump camera okay because that last one had some sauce one it.

Even with Rashid Khan's class there's enough bowlers that London Spirit will feel they can target.
McDermott 17, Morgan 6
Captain Lewis Gregory's first delivery is dispatched for four by his opposite number Eoin Morgan.
McDermott later swings so hard at the next one you can almost hear the swoosh on the stump mic. He misses.
McDermott 17, Morgan 1
Morgan goes for the reverse sweep first ball...off Rashid Khan.
We're having a delay as the ball ricocheted into Eoin Morgan's helmet so the physio is coming on to have a look and ask all the questions.
I wonder what they are?

Lawrence never really looked settled there against Rashid Khan. The previous ball was almost there but this ball got him.
As we know Rashid Khan is a very clever bowler.
Lawrence b Khan 7 (Spirit 51-3)
So much air between bat and ball as he plays all around it and the Zingers light up. That's the magic of Rashid Khan and his googly.
McDermott 17, Lawrence 7
Rashid Khan is just so hard to get away even for someone on form like McDermott tonight.
Lawrence clocks final ball of the set and drives beautifully past Wood who loses it in the sun.
Nat Sciver is still in the house and watching on. Not a bad 30th for her today with their victory over the London Spirit.
I'm still wondering if she's had a cake yet.

That's another big wicket that falls there for the London Spirit.
Bell-Drummond c Munro b Wood 24 (Spirit 42-2)
Bell-Drummond gets a leading edge and Munro does well under a high ball. He was in a weird position but a catch is a catch.
Luke Wood using his variation really well here and totting up those dot balls. He's got the most of anyone in the tournament so far. 33 and counting. Those always bring about pressure and often wickets.
Bell-Drummond 24, McDermott 14
That's the end of the Powerplay and both teams will be relatively happy.
