Blimey that's a forceful shot! It was savagely put away by McDermott.
Bell Drummond 21, McDermott 12
McDermott gets on in the slot and sees it early. He gets down on one knee and dispatches it into the leg side.
He immediately backs it up with a four into the on-side.
Bell-Drummond 20, McDermott 1
A great opening spell from Cook who gets a wicket and puts a slow on the run-scoring.

A big blow for the London Spirit.

And that is the way it goes. One week you're hitting the quickest 50 and the next you're out for two.
Rossington c Sams b Cook 2 (Spirit 22-1)
Running in from deep mid-wicket Sams sets himself and makes it look easy. The dangerous Rossington goes and that's just the start Rockets needed.
That was back of a length from Cook who seems to be okay after his collision with the boundary.

They have baseball caps to give to people who take catches. Come on!

I can only remember one catch in the crowd so far in the Hundred.
Rossington 2, Bell-Drummond 18
Launched into the leg-side by Daniel Bell-Drummond. It hung in the air a long time and Sam Cook thought he was in the game but it's just over his head. He hits the floor but seems okay.
Bell-Drummond goes again and makes it back-to-back in almost exactly the same position. Poor attempt to catch it in the crowd though. I'm disappointed.
Rossington 1, Bell-Drummond 5
There's a slip in play showing the Rockets are going aggressive from the start. Wood is finding a bit of swing out there which could make it interesting as the light fades and the dew starts to appear.
Bell-Drummond opens his account with a beautiful textbook drive just in front of point. That's how I think I hit it when I ghost rehearse my drive when waiting in the queue at the supermarket.

Rossington is going to go hard. McDermott will do the same. Maybe, if needed, Bell-Drummond and Lawrence will play that holding role.
The Rockets take the field and huddle and the noise is staggering. I think it's obvious who the crowd are supporting.
Adam Rossington struts out accompanied by Daniel Bell-Drummond and I hope you're sitting down with a cold beverage because this is about to heat up.
To be honest I wouldn't want to bowl against either of these sides. All the talk has been about Alex Hales and Dawid Malan but let's not forget that Adam Rossington hit the fastest fifty in Hundred history last week.
Casual 15-ball fifty!
Rashid Khan is back from International duty and replaces Tabraiz Shamsi. That's a tough one for Shamsi who bowled (and celebrated) superbly against the Invincibles.
Not a bad person to be able to sub in though....
Thumbs up if the Rockets will launch.
Thumbs down if the Spirits will stay high.
Rockets' opener Alex Hales has scored 199 runs already in the tournament and is seeing the ball like a beach ball. He's gone 360 degrees and blasted the ball to all parts. There is also a very small boundary at Trent Bridge today - not that it bothers him when he can smash it literally out of the park!
For the Spirit, Nathan Ellis, while wicketless in his last three games, showed what he could do when he took three against the Invincibles. He'll be looking to try and keep Hales quiet at the top of the innings. But more so he will be hoping to see the back of him very quickly. If he can nail that slower ball, he'll be in business.
It could be a fiery match-up especially amongst all those spinners in both team's armoury.
Trent Rockets: Dawid Malan, Alex Hales, Colin Munro, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Tom Moores (wk), Rashid Khan, Lewis Gregory, Daniel Sams, Samit Pate, Luke Wood, Sam Cook.
London Spirit: Adam Rossington (wk), Daniel Bell-Drummond, Ben McDermott, Dan Lawrence, Eoin Morgan (c), Kieron Pollard, Jordan Thompson, Liam Dawson, Nathan Ellis, Mason Crane, Chris Wood.
Eoin Morgan calls tails. It's wrong so Lewis Gregory and the Rockets will bowl first. Morgan claims he's "not really bothered" and looks pretty chill about the decision.
Rashid Khan is back in for Rockets and that is always a worry for any opposition especially on a used wicket.
London Spirit, who finished dead last in 2021, are absolutely flying in 2022 and have yet to lose a game. Whether it be with bat, ball or in the field, they've excelled in all areas. Then when you've got Eoin Morgan at the helm partnered up with coach Trevor Bayliss, you've got a pretty good recipe for success.
The Rockets have treated us to some of the most staggering batting so far and often thanks to the two at the top - Alex Hales and Dawid Malan. You would have to drag me kicking and screaming to open the bowling if those two are facing. The Rockets shocked the Originals when they chased down 190 earlier in the tournament and haven't taken their foot off the accelerator since. Except Tabraiz Shamsi who needs his foot so he could take his shoe off to celebrate his wickets! If you think I've lost the plot, I recommend you go and check out the video on the BBC Sport site.
So, in short, they're both on form and this will be as tasty as an ice cream in the Nottingham sunshine.
