  1. Brave 5-0published at 5 balls

Danni Wyatt is coming into the final on the back of two ducks in a row. She gets on strike for the last ball of Kapp's set - and is beaten by a beauty!

Just a little bit of movement off the seam and the ball nips past the outside edge and through to Lauren Winfield-Hill.

Kapp will continue for another five.

Ultimately, the team that is the calmest on the day and able to deliver their skills will walk away with the trophy.

  3. Brave 4-0published at 2 balls

Gorgeous shot! After blocking the first, Mandhana drives elegantly through the covers next ball and the ball glides across the lush green turf at Lord's for the first runs, and first boundary, of the day.

Southern Brave will have needed to get rid of the emotion of the win last night and move on quite quickly.

Tash Farrant, an Invincibles player ruled out of the tournament this year because of injury, is part of the BBC commentary team today.

I don't think she'll mind me telling you she was kicked out of the dressing room earlier for being too nervous for her team-mates.

Fireworks around the boundary, flames shooting up to guide the players out to the middle... and here they come!

Suzie Bates leads out the Oval Invincibles and the Southern Brave openers, Danni Wyatt and Smriti Mandhana, come through the arch soon afterwards.

We're almost ready for the off.

If you remember, the first game of the tournament was delayed by a minute or two while they waited for the smoke to clear from all the fireworks and so on.

Based on what Matt has been told, this could be quite dramatic!

We’ve been given a specific warning in the broadcast areas about the amount of pyros set up. Think there could be quite the show when the players emerge.

Suzie Bates and Lauren Winfield-Hill is a brilliant opening partnership. They have had an outstanding tournament.

Marizanne Kapp has only played three games, but she is a big-game player. She won the final for Oval Invincibles last year.

Look out for Sophia Smale too. She's been the standout player of the tournament for me so far.

  11. Key match-up: Two high-class number threespublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

England will hope Alice Capsey and Sophia Dunkley are batting together in finals for years to come. However, this afternoon they're on opposite sides.

At 18, Capsey is the rising star of English cricket and has already established herself as a vital member of the Oval Invincibles side.

But for all that she oozes class, Capsey has been limited to entertaining cameos - her strike-rate is 140.90 - in The Hundred this year. What better time for a really substantial innings than in a Lord's final?

Meanwhile, Dunkley, 24, has established herself in the England XI in the past year and tops the averages for Southern Brave this summer.

She is also without a fifty in the tournament this year - 49 is her top-score - and a strike-rate of 119.28 is a little lower than you might expect from such an adventurous batter. Don't bet against her addressing both those issues today.

No Dane van Niekerk for the Invincibles. Her captaincy was a massive part in them winning last year.

    A huge call.

  17. Postpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

Oval Invincibles captain Suzie Bates: "We were going to have a bowl today so we could have just agreed to that. Obviously, finals cricket, we wanted to get out there, we've played a game on this wicket and it has done a little bit early.

"We hope we can take a few early wickets and the chase them down.

"It's been a real balanced effort this year, especially with the ball. We've got the two quicks - two of the best in the world - and then some off-spin and our left-armer Sophia Smale has been brilliant in the powerplay.

"A nice balanced bowling attack and then we've managed to get the runs from the top-order. Finals cricket is a new day, it doesn't matter what has happened before, it's all about what happens on the day."

Southern Brave captain Anya Shrubsole: "Batting first is something that has worked well for us throughout the tournament and in a final, you get runs on the board and then hopefully put pressure on them in the field.

"Everyone has travelled up well. We got up here yesterday evening and everyone is ready and raring to go.

"I've said literally nothing to the team so far, Lottie [Charlotte Edwards] has said everything. You want to be playing here at the best cricket ground in the world. What's not to enjoy?"
