He's rubbing his shoulder, saying "I've got nowhere near that!"

Premature celebrations from the Trent Rockets.

Matt Parkinson told Wood that he got nowhere near it and he wasn't lying, it's off his shoulder. Good decision by the ump.

That's the end of an excellent spell from Luke Wood, we've got 10 balls to go.

Luke Wood's bowling: 19% full, 29% good length and 52% short. 20 balls, 10 dots, went for 19 runs, took 1 wickets with an economy of 0.95 runs per ball.
  4. Rockets reviewpublished at 90 balls

    Originals 103-8

Is that two in two for Wood? He thinks Parkinson has edged this behind, the umpire disagrees so upstairs we go.

    Hartley c Moores b Wood 12 (Originals 103-8)

Edged and gone. Luke Wood takes a well-deserved wicket.

After bowling a couple of excellent slower balls, Wood follows up with a shorter, quicker delivery. Hartley has a flash at it but can only feather it behind.

You mix it up to the tail-end, speaking as one myself. You're expecting 80mph, then you chuck in a slower one and it beats you all ends up.

  7. Originals 102-7published at 85 balls

    Hartley 11, Gleeson 1

The way this is going, I fancy Manchester Originals might bite your hand off for 120 now.

We're down to the tail, this pitch doesn't look the best for batting and the Rockets are really pumped up.

    WICKETpublished at 81 balls

    Lammonby b Cook 21 (Originals 100-7)

There goes the Originals' last recognised batter.

Sam Cook is having quite the final so far, that's his third wicket. Another well-executed yorker that beats Tom Lammonby and crashes into leg stump with the batter trying to give himself room.

Colin Munro on player-mic: "Carter is funny one, because nothing bothers him. He's gutted not to be playing, but he comes in front of a packed-out Lord's and plays like this."

  11. Originals 100-6published at 80 balls

Really good stuff from Carter. He is mixing his pace up well and trying to cramp the batters for room.

Just four from that set, enough to bring up the 100 for the Originals but not much else.

I rate this Lammonby, I think he's a bit funky. Scoops, paddles, reverse paddles...

  14. Originals 96-6published at 75 balls

Luke Wood is back and bowling at good pace, too. He gets one delivery to really lift and thud into Hartley's gloves.

The ball falls safely and the Originals scamper through for one. That is about all they can manage right now.

What can Lammonby and Hartley do to change things?

Tom Hartley can hold a bat, he can play some shots. But do you want him in at 70 balls? No.

  16. Originals 88-6published at 70 balls

    Lammonby 16, Hartley 8

Carter gets through another five, no real damage done to the Rockets. Lammonby and Hartley have to settle for just ticking the score along.

With 30 balls left, they'd want to get things moving soon. However, with just the bowlers left to come, they may have to hold back for a while longer.

  17. Originals 83-6published at 65 balls

Another five balls go by and it's very tidy stuff from Matt Carter.

The off-spinner is only playing because Tabraiz Shamsi has left for the Caribbean Premier League but he's doing a great job for his team.

  18. Originals 79-6published at 60 balls

Tom Hartley shows he is no mug with the bat by hitting Samit Patel back over his head for four to end the set.

He got Lancashire over the line with a big-hitting cameo against Birmingham Bears in the Blast this summer, too. The Originals need a little bit more than a cameo here but that would be a start.

The Manchester Originals have that long tail. Tom Hartley will have to play the type of innings he's never played before at Lord's to get his team to that 140 total.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 58 balls

    Turner c Cook b Patel 26 (Originals 75-6)

Samit is having a day out! It's his third and that is another very important wicket.

Ashton Turner had thumped the previous ball for four, went for the big sweep this time and picks out the man in the deep.

The Originals slump further into trouble, the Rockets couldn't have wished for better.
