Sophie Ecclestone gets so nervous when she goes out to bat. She would have been so anxious last night. But she's so good at batting I always tell her and wonder why she gets so nervous.

Ecclestone prods nervously at the ball and it flies towards point slightly aerially. Oooohs and aaaahs from the South Africa fielders but I doubt we'll see too many tentative shots from Ecclestone this morning.

Nat Sciver makes her way to the middle, accompanied by Sophie Ecclestone, who is yet to face a ball as Alice Davidson-Richards was out to the last ball of the day.

She has one ball of Tumi Sekhukhune's over to face.

England have got some real batters still in this line-up. Kate Cross isn't really a tail-ender and Ecclestone hit her first ball in Test cricket for six. She can bat and when she bats it's only in one way. With her and Issy Wong going out there, England can easily ramp up a big lead this morning.

Alice Davidson-Richards and Nat Sciver put on 207 - England women's second-highest partnership for any wicket in Test cricket - to put England into the lead.

At one stage England looked in real trouble when Heather Knight was run out first ball after tea and Sophia Dunkley and Amy Jones fell soon after.

Davidson-Richards spoke last night and said, "I am a bit all over the shop."

    Understandable.

It will be interesting to see how South Africa come out tonight because they looked so tired yesterday by the end of the day.

That could mean some loose balls for England to capitalise on and move the score along quickly.

It wouldn't be an England Test match without a little bit of worry about rain, would it?

The forecast for Taunton reads "light rain showers and a gentle breeze", which doesn't sound too terrible - fingers crossed.

Good morning and welcome back for day three.

England finished yesterday in a promising position with a lead of 44, having fought back from 121-5.

Nat Sciver remains unbeaten on 119 while debutant Alice Davidson-Richards agonisingly departed from the last ball of the day for 107.

England will be looking to push on this morning - let's just hope the rain stays away.
