Issy Wong quite fancies herself as a batter too. She oozes excitement and plays with great freedom and I think she is going to play for England for a very long time.

    The rain is still falling.

    The covers are still on.

    The sky is still grey.

    Oh, the great British summer.

England will have to start to spread the field a bit and not have to have too much of a run chase.

They've got the batters in the side and even if they needed something like 10 an over they would give it a hell of a chase.

We all want to see a result out of this amazing Test match. We've had it all so far and it deserves a result. It's been such a shame with the weather and it seems a bit unfair.

It's raining heavier than at any point during the game yesterday.

Lunch will be taken early at 13:20 BST, 10 minutes earlier than previously scheduled.

South Africa have a lead of seven runs with five wickets remaining.

You would say it's been South Africa's morning. The battle between Wong and Lee was the thrill of the morning.

The nightwatcher Sekhukhune and Kapp are going along well. With this rain we are going to lose more time and it's not going England's way.

  8. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 57.3 overs

Sekhukhune plays her best shot of the day down the ground that is just pulled in from the boundary and we're going off for rain.

Just as she was getting into her groove.

It's pretty heavy. We'll keep you updated with news as we have it.

There are umbrellas up everywhere and spectators taking cover.

  10. SA 138-5published at 57 overs

    It's raining again.

Give Emma Lamb a go to just try something different and mix it up a bit. She bowled two overs in the first innings and will give a good point of difference and maybe make something happen.

  12. SA 136-5published at 56 overs

    Lead by 3

When we started this morning I really didn't think Tumi Sekhukhune would still be batting two hours later, but fair play.

She has 16 from 100 balls.

Kapp has reached 16 and she's only scored boundaries so far. She's hit four fours.

  14. SA 136-5published at 55 overs

South Africa lead by 3 runs

    Shot of the day.

Ecclestone bowls full and Marizanne Kapp unveils a cover drive for the ages that races away for four and takes South Africa into the lead.

    What a player.

  15. Postpublished at 12:54 British Summer Time 30 June 2022

England will be very glad to no longer be bowling at Lizelle Lee.

  16. SA 132-5published at 54 overs

Alice Davidson-Richards is into the attack. Just one from the over as she bowls a wide.

South Africa taking their time to get into the lead.

A reminder that lunch will be taken at 13:30 BST today to make up for the overs lost yesterday.

Sekhukhune has got through the night and she's now day watching.

  18. SA 131-5published at 53 overs

Sekhukhune has been brilliant. Kapp doesn't feel the need to turn down singles, trusting the nightwatcher instead as she takes a run from the fourth ball and keeps the strike.

    Two runs away from parity.

    Alex Hartley
Former England bowler on BBC Test Match Special

Wong needs to drag her length back a bit. She's going a bit too full as she's just trying to get it down there as fast as possible.

  20. SA 130-5published at 52 overs

    Trail by 3

Marizanne Kapp is not going to hang around either, by the looks of things.

Issy Wong bowls wide of the off stump and twice she threads it through the covers for two boundaries in the over.

It's pretty certain now that England will have to bat again but how many will they need to win? And how long will they have to do it?
