That's all from us for today after an impressive England win by five wickets to put them 4-2 up in the multi-format series.

Emma Lamb scored a memorable first international ton and you can watch the best of that and the rest of the match on BBC iPlayer tomorrow morning. Highlights will be there from 07:00 BST.

In the meantime, Ffion Wynne's excellent report is available to read right here.

There are a few days until the second ODI in Bristol on Friday when South Africa will look to hit back. We'll be back for that and we'll also be here tomorrow for the first ODI of the men's series against India. See you then!

There were other impressive performances for England - Katherine Brunt took 3-18 - but the day belongs to Emma Lamb after her stylish century - her first for England.

    It's a day that she'll never forget!

On another day, Nat Sciver would have been in the running for player of the match after taking four wickets and hitting a quickfire 55.

As ever with Sciver, once she got going with the bat, it was hard to stop her!

Danni Wyatt sealed it for England in style, thumping the ball back down the ground in what was a rather thumping win for Heather Knight's side.

Player of the match, England batter Emma Lamb: "What a day! I'm just absolutely buzzing to get a hundred.

"I just wanted to be really positive, I kept it really simple. It's a very good deck and I think our bowlers did a lot of hard work in the first innings so if if it was in my slot I just wanted to hit it with real intent.

"I've got all the confidence from the coaches and the team, that helps a lot. I feel really calm and relaxed about where I'm at so I think it's a very good start for me and hopefully I can carry on."

On sharing the hundred moment with Heather Knight: "It was very special, very emotional - I nearly cried! It was great to give her a hug and it was lovely."

On family: "They're not here unfortunately but I'm sure they'll be watching at home."

England captain Heather Knight: "I'm very pleased. We've spoke about wanting to be a bit more on the front foot and it couldn't have much better today. The batting was brilliant and backed up the bowlers.

"The selection was difficult today. The young girls that came in have impressed. Charlie Dean has been outstanding for us and came back in and Katherine Brunt showed us what we've been missing. We're hoping we're able to give Lauren Bell and Issy Wong a chance at some stage but we'll have to see."

On Emma Lamb: "It was lovely. I really enjoyed being out there actually. It was a really special moment for her. She was really calm and composed. That is something that I've noticed in the last few weeks. She looks like she really belonged there. I'm really pleased for her."

On Nat Sciver: "She is at the peak of her powers. To see her batting with such confidence and skill and she bowled 10 overs with the ball and then backed it up. I'm glad she's in our side."

On the changes to the batting order: "We feel it's a more attacking side. Sophia Dunkley will bat at three, Nat Sciver at four and I will generally come in at five. We feel it gives us more power at the top and it is something we're going to try and stick with."

It is a new cycle to the next World Cup in three years time and England couldn't have started it much better. I'm excited to see how they progress during the series.

South Africa captain Sune Luus: "Obviously not a good start with the bat. We needed that momentum but Chloe Tryon batted very well to get us to the score we got. Then their batters came out and hit us off our lengths, I thought Emma Lamb batted extremely well so well done to England.

"Losing two early wickets puts you on the back foot but we need to find a way to keep the momentum going, especially against a side like England. You can see the brand of cricket they're playing, it's very aggressive.

"We need to see what we can improve on and what we can learn from England.

"Chloe has been hitting the ball extremely well recently so that innings was due to happen. I'm hoping Shabnim Ismail will be good to go for the second ODI."

This will be the pattern of the series I think. England are just too good for South Africa, especially with no Lizelle Lee or Dane van Niekerk.

It can't just be boundaries or dot balls. That is flaw in most South African batters - it is something they've got to improve if they want to get anything out of this.

They have to find a way to put pressure on England so that they see Emma Lamb and Heather Knight etc come onto bowl.

We thought it was under par but it was about 160 below par knowing the result now.

I don't think South Africa misread the pitch but they didn't go on the counter-attack.

Can they try and rotate the strike against Sophie Ecclestone and Katherine Brunt?

South Africa just allowed England to bowl at them and England were on top of the game throughout.

It wasn't a long hand from Emma Lamb, though. Nat Sciver played a big part, too. The all-rounder hit a blistering half-century from 31 balls in a stand of 89 for the third wicket.

South Africa didn't look like their knew how to stem the flow of runs or take wickets and without that you're not going to win many games, especially with a below-par total on the board.

They need Shabnim Ismail back. I heard rumours she had a bowl this morning so hopefully for South Africa and the series she isn't far away.

    It was comprehensive for England.

England could have quite easily taken their time to chase this but they've gone out there and really put their foot down and shown what they are about. It has been brilliant.

No wonder she was smiling, it was a memorable first international century from Emma Lamb - and in a winning cause, too!

England were absolutely brilliant. They look a totally different ODI side to the one that struggled in the World Cup group stages.

They had a new batting line-up and they were phenomenal and Katherine Brunt just did what she does.

Emma Lamb will be very, very happy and I'll be surprised if she stops smiling all night.

England have marmalised South Africa today.

That's how to do it! Danni Wyatt hammers the ball back down the ground to seal a comprehensive England win.

    They've chased down South Africa's under-par 218 with 17.5 overs to spare.

Emma Lamb led the way with her maiden England century, a special day for her.
