Emma Lamb is just completely at home in international cricket. I've watched her do this for years now for Thunder, she is the backbone of our team there but she's just doing exactly the same for England.

  2. How's stat?!published at 15:32 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

    Phil Long
    BBC Test Match Special statistician

Tammy Beaumont has played 10 times against South Africa.

She has three hundreds and three fifties.

  3. Eng 149-0published at 22 overs

    Lamb 65, Beaumont 65

Three more boundaries from Mlaba's latest as Lamb and Beaumont continue to heap salt in South Africa's wounds.

Lamb charges the first ball and lifts it up and over extra cover, Beaumont then crunches one through extra cover off the back foot before a thick outside edge runs away fine.

It's hot out there for everyone. But imagine how hot it is in the field when the opposition are 149-0!

  5. Eng 135-0published at 21 overs

It's hard to keep up at the moment with Lamb and Beaumont peppering the boundary.

Lamb's latest four comes with a lovely late cut that races away.

Heads are dropping, body language is poor and you've got to take those chances at international level - especially when there are three in the space of an over!

Southern Vipers batter on BBC Test Match Special

You drop Tammy Beaumont and that's what she will do to you.

  8. Eng 129-0published at 20.2 overs

Of course. South Africa missed all those opportunities and Beaumont is making them pay.

It's a thumping shot back over Tryon's head and it crashes into the sightscreen - the first six of the match!

The body language out there is really down after that over. A terrible, terrible piece of cricket.

It's actually a fantastic piece of fielding from Laura Wolvaardt but the keeper has let her down horribly.

That sums up the day for South Africa.

  11. dropped catch

Lamb dropped on 54, Beaumont dropped on 50published at 20 overs

    Eng 123-0

Honestly, I don't know where to start! South Africa seem determined to make their lives as difficult as possible out there!

Firstly, Lamb chips the ball down the throat of Steyn at long-on, only for the fielder to drop a sitter.

Very next ball, Beaumont offers up a return catch to Mlaba, who doesn't seem to be expecting it and, again, it is shelled.

Then, perhaps the worst of the lot comes last ball of the over. Lamb hits the ball to backward point, sets off for a single but Wolvaardt makes a good stop and throws it in to Chetty. Not the best throw but Lamb isn't even in the shot.

Should be gone by a mile but instead the ball squirms through Chetty's legs and Lamb survives. What is going on?!

  12. 50 runs

50 for Tammy Beaumontpublished at 19.1 overs

    Eng 121-1

An 18th ODI fifty for Tammy Beaumont and second in two games. She has batted superbly, working the ball around nicely to go with some thumping boundaries.

  13. Postpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

    Jonathan Agnew
BBC cricket correspondent on Test Match Special

I don't think it would have taken long for Sune Luus to regret her decision to bowl first.

  14. Eng 120-0published at 19 overs

A half chance for South Africa as Lamb slightly miscues a shot into the leg-side but it is just over Ismail's head at mid-wicket.

Both Lamb and Beaumont seem to have decided that the reverse sweep is the way to go against Tryon and the shot brings them a few more runs in the over.

This is only her fifth ODI but she's scored a hundred and two fifties already!

  16. Postpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

    Jonathan Agnew
BBC cricket correspondent on Test Match Special

She has played very nicely and really made South Africa rue their decision not to make first use of the pitch.

  17. 50 runs

50 for Emma Lambpublished at 18 overs

    Eng 114-0

The 24-year-old opener passes 50 for the third time in the series, a second ODI half-century to go with one ton.

A single out to deep cover gets her there from 53 balls. She has looked the part out there again today.

    Georgia Elwiss
England all-rounder on BBC Test Match Special

It seems like they're having a competition to see who can get their fifty quickest!

  19. Eng 110-0published at 17 overs

    Lamb 48, Beaumont 45

Lamb goes back and cuts the last ball of the over away square. Two is the call but it looks like it might be four until de Klerk gets round to cut it off with a dive and a clean pick up.

Good fielding but the runs show no sign of stopping.

They're showing no signs of getting out!
