It's a bit overpitched by Issy Wong but you don't mind seeing her pitching the ball up.

That's a wonderful shot, though. Straight down the ground, the most pleasing on the eye.

  2. SA 15-0published at 1.2 overs

    Top shot!

Issy Wong overpitches with her first ball and Wolvaardt meets it with the full face of the bat, checked drive back down the ground for four.

Four more. This one slips out of Wong's hand and Wolvaardt nails the ball through the off-side.

Decent shape from Lauren Bell but just going a little too straight as all the runs came on the leg side.

But Laura Wolvaardt is such a good player through the covers so you can see why they'd want to bowl a little straighter.

  4. SA 7-0published at 1 over

Decent start for South Africa with both Steyn and Laura Wolvaardt able to work the ball into the leg-side, playing with the swing as Bell just errs a little too straight.

England have a buzz around them already.

  6. SA 0-0published at 0.1 overs

    Target 372

Lauren Bell has the new ball in hand and starts with a full, swinging delivery that is pushed back to her by Andrie Steyn. Fielded with the boot and we're off in the South Africa innings.

  7. South Africa need 372 to winpublished at 18:13 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

It is something of a long shot, to say the least, but theoretically South Africa will be looking to overhaul England's mammoth total.

We'll have to wait and see how they approach it as the players head back out to the middle.

  8. Postpublished at 18:11 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

In a less than stellar fielding display from South Africa, there were a couple of highlights with Marizanne Kapp taking a superb catch to remove Wyatt and Amy Jones run out after good work by Ismail.

It wasn't just the openers who enjoyed themselves at Grace Road with Sophia Dunkley and Heather Knight also scoring fifties, while Danni Wyatt hit two big sixes in an entertaining cameo.

Tammy Beaumont just kept going through and brought her a ninth ODI hundred in quick time.

She eventually fell for 119 but it was a dominant knock to put England in a brilliant position.

South Africa did eventually break the opening stand - Shabnim Ismail bowled Lamb - but only after one of the most ridiculous fielding overs you will ever see.

Two dropped catches and a straightforward run out chance missed. It rather sums up South Africa's day.

Meanwhile, Tammy Beaumont was in brilliant form. Having been presented with a cap for passing 200 England appearances earlier in this multi-format series before the game, she really took the attack to the South Africa bowlers.

  13. Postpublished at 18:01 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

Let's start with Emma Lamb. She hadn't score an international run at the start of this multi-format series and now she's got a hundred and two half-centuries in the last three games.

Let's look at some of the highlights - and there were plenty...

    Thanks, Ffion.

That was some going from England, their fifth highest ODI total and just seven short of the record.

As for South Africa, captain Sune Luus might have some explaining to do after choosing to bowl first on the hottest day this country has ever seen. That will have felt like a long old innings for the fielding side.

As I go and help myself to an ice lolly from the freezer and attempt to save my garden from wilting away in this heat, it's time for Sam Drury to take over and guide you through the rest of the interval and the start of South Africa's chase.

Some tough bowling figures for the South Africa bowlers.

Ayabonga Khaka the pick of them, with 2-64 from 10 followed by Chloe Tryon with 0-58.

Poor Nadine de Klerk bowled eight overs for 87.

That is brutal. Tough, tough day for the visitors.

I don't think I've ever heard it said that anyone is actually looking forward to an ice bath.

I guess that's how bad that first innings was for South Africa that an ice bath looks fun in comparison.

South Africa are deflated. No smiles on anyone's faces, they just want to get an ice bath.
