England outplayed India. It's simple really.

Sarah Glenn spun a masterclass and the Indian batters had no answer to it. I definitely thought a five-for was on the cards but those four wickets were stunning.

Then she was backed up by that classy knock from Dunkley. Yes, she was out on a no-ball and yes, she was dropped but she capitalised and took those chances and brought it home. Alongside Capsey, she showed the talent coming through at England and the two strolled off smiling, happy and confident they'd done the job.

Not too bad for a cold evening in Durham. You can catch highlights of tonight's game on BBC Two at 1am and they will also be available on the BBC iPlayer shortly after.

Danni Wyatt was the only English wicket to fall thanks to some impressive work behind the stumps from Ricah Ghosh.

And another. Glenn finished off her impressive evening with the wicket of Navgire. A stunning diving catch from Danni Wyatt put the Indian team six down and, as the run rate slowed, England looked confident and headed into the innings break feeling they had restricted India to something they could chase down.

There was an attempt at some resistance from Richa Ghosh who smashed Sophie Ecclestone for a huge six but they just couldn't find the boundary enough to set a score out of England's reach.

Another for Glenn who could do no wrong tonight. Hemathala looked to go big but wasn't equal to what Glenn was sending down. Wickets were falling quickly in the middle overs and the Indian batters had no response.

Enter Sarah Glenn. England's leg-spinner was having a golden day and the Indian batters had no response. Shafali Verma can be dangerous at the top of the Indian batting line-up but the combination of Glenn's bowling and Smith in the field saw the back of the second Indian opener and suddenly India were 47-2.

Let's end with our wrap of the day.

The two Indian openers came flying out of the traps and it looked like they could be on for a huge score. But it was the breakthrough from Bryony Smith that put the stoppers on it. She trapped Mandhana lbw for 23 and it was England's night from there.

September it's cold, but you're here for 10 days already - what were you expecting? You know it's going to be cold. You've got to be prepared.

It's the manner in which India played the game, defensive in their approach. They could have been a little more expressive - this is a format that allows you to play fearlessly, take a few more chances.

It feels like the England men's and women's teams have gone out there to play for their country and to bring together the people in the crowd.

That wasn't India at the best at all. They can field better than that, they can bat better than that, they can bowl better than that.

    Capsey

Dunkley does it with a four!

Dominant from the home side and the two young batters walk off smiling under the floodlights.

It was started by Sarah Glenn and her performance with the ball but India also fell down in the field. They will need to go and have a think about today's performance and come back better in Derby.

Capsey and Dunkley, they're the new generation. Playing for their domestic regions, then stepping up to the international stage, where they've absolutely shone.

    Dunkley 53, Capsey 30

This really has been dominant from England. There were a few raised eyebrows and questions as to how they would fare without Sciver in the line-up but they've capitalised on India's mistakes and been led with the ball by Glenn and then Dunkley and Capsey with the bat.

They now need just nine from 48.

Alice Capsey plays international cricket like she's been doing it her whole life. It's astonishing to think she only really catapulted into global awareness during the summer of 2021 isn't it?!

India really have let themselves down in the field today. Aside from that stumping there's been little to celebrate out there.

Harmanpreet Kaur bowls a no ball followed by a wide and Capsey shows no mercy whacking the free hit back over her head for six.

The Indian fielding in this innings has not been a good sight. It's been ugly. It's free runs being gifted to England.
