  1. India 93-5published at 14 overs

    Navgire 3, Sharma 3

In comes Bryony Smith, hoping to match her feats in the outfield with some wickets of her own.

Just the four from it as new batters Kiran Prabhu Navgire and Deepti Sharma try to find their way into the game.

It took Kaur a while to drag herself from the crease because she just couldn't believe what that ball had done. It's great bowling from Sarah Glenn.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 12.5 overs

    Kaur b Glenn 20 (India 88-5)

Sarah Glenn has the India captain!

Harmanpreet Kaur continues to attack and advances down the pitch. Glenn's ball is fired in but barely lifts off the pitch after the bounce. It scuds under Kaur's bat - nothing she can do about that.

Bryony Smith has enjoyed a productive evening - having a hand in three wickets. Here's the first two she was involved in.

I don't think Richa should feel bad about that wicket. She tried to get the momentum going and she's scored quickly and now the debutant Kiran Navgire can come in and build on that.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11.4 overs

    Ghosh c Smith b Davies 16 (India 83-4)

    Too much too soon?

That's a fantastic response from Davies, a slow ball out of the back of the hand, Ghosh still gets plenty of it but there's not enough pace on the ball to lift it over Bryony Smith at long-on.

Harmanpreet has got everything - the power, the sweep, the deft touches and the captaincy is really getting the best out of her.

  8. India 82-3published at 11.1 overs

    Ghosh 16, Kaur 15

A gorgeous ramp shot from Harmanpreet Kaur to start Freya Davies's over - this feels like a push from the India batters as they try to up the rate.

  9. India 78-3published at 11 overs

    Ghosh 16, Kaur 11

Sophie Ecclestone returns at the other end - a half-hearted call and her first ball hits Ghosh's pads, but it was always sliding down and she doesn't review it. "Yesssssss, Soph!" calls her captain from behind the stumps.

Ghosh responds with an open-faced four through third and then hits a massive six from the final ball of the over, slog-sweeped over mid-wicket.

13 from Ecclestone's over - from famine to feast for the India batters.

Jack Rule: With no Brunt or Sciver in the team, they have picked a team whose frontline seam attack has a total of 36 international caps! Yes, get the new players into the team but you have next-to-no experience in the team as a result.

  11. India 65-3published at 10 overs

    Ghosh 4, Kaur 11

Forget the maiden, Freya Kemp returns for Sophie Ecclestone. Will captain Amy Jones regret that? Kaur helps her first ball round her legs for an easy four to fine-leg.

Ghosh smears Kemp through point, it evades the fielder there but Sophia Dunkley does tremendous work in the deep, getting round to cut off the boundary. She'll want to redeem herself after her drop - and a big dive across a soggy outfield will go some way to doing that.

There's three things you need out there. Experience, hand warmers and a towel to dry the ball.

New batter Richa Ghosh and Harmanpreet Kaur work the singles. They've got a rebuilding job on their hands here.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 8.2 overs

    Hemalatha lbw b Glenn 10 (India 55-3)

A lovely late cut from Hemalatha brings two down to third-man, but she's gone two balls later!

Fired in from Glenn and there's no appeals for this lbw. Her return to the India batting line-up hasn't lasted long.

  15. India 51-2published at 8 overs

    Hemalatha 8, Kaur 4

Spin from both ends now as Sophie Ecclestone enters the attack. It's a maiden from her, you almost expect it these days.

  16. India 51-2published at 7 overs

In comes captain Harmanpreet Kaur and she immediately times the ball through the covers for four.

You can almost feel the sting of Bryony Smith's hands there. It went fast and flat and she just got into a good position and didn't get distracted by the floodlights. That's a massive wicket.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 6.3 overs

    Verma c Smith b Glenn 14 (India 47-2)

    A breakthrough for Sarah Glenn!

Hemalatha clouts the new bowler through mid-on for four and two balls later Verma, who survived a run-out shy from the opening ball of the over, eyes up the same area. She makes a mess of it and it spoons up for an easy take for Bryony Smith at long-on.

  19. India 41-1published at 6 overs

    Verma 13, Hemalatha 3

Freyas at both ends now as Davies returns to replace wicket-taker Bryony Smith... and she could have had a wicket herself!

A back-of-the-hand slower ball, Verma doesn't pick it and it should be a easy take for Sophia Dunkley in the covers but it's spilled!

Meanwhile captain Amy Jones is doing some sterling work behind the stumps, sharply saving a leg-side wide from running away for byes - her second smart take of the over.

  20. India 36-1published at 5 overs

    Verma 11, Hemalatha 1

    VermaImage source, Getty Images

Dayalan Hemalatha is the new batter, making her first T20I appearance since February 2019.

17-year-old Freya Kemp has replaced Bell and looks to be into her rhythm immediately... until she drags her final ball a little short and Verma clouts her for yet another lofted four down the wicket.
