  1. wicket

Davies run out 12 (Sparks 105-8 v Vipers)

The Sparks are desperate for every run they can muster as they go for two off Davina Perrin's shot.

But Gwen Davies is short of her mark as she races to the bowler's end after Georgia Elwiss removes the bails.

  2. Postpublished at 19.4 overs

    Sparks 104-7 v Vipers

Elwiss tasked with bowling the final six balls of the Sparks effort.

Davina Perrin scampers two off the first before she can't get a bat on the second and sends a low full toss out for one.

Gwen Davies on strike - a single to out in the deep on the bounce.

  3. Postpublished at 19 overs

    Sparks 100-7 v Vipers

The Sparks have never cut loose at any point in this innings and it doesn't happen in this penultimate over, either.

Freya Kemp only gives up a couple of singles from the first three balls, before Davina Perrin gets one away for four.

Seven off the over and the 100 is finally up.

  4. wicket

Arlott run out 6 (Sparks 93-7 v Vipers)

    Brilliant work from Georgia Adams!

Emily Arlott had shown some good intent with six from her first three balls.

She thinks she's got the last ball of the over past Adams, but the Vipers captain has other ideas as she stops it and flicks it onto the stumps with the batter well short of her mark.

One wicket, one catch, one run-out and only 16 runs off four overs for Adams. Good work skip!

Sarah Glenn knows she has to get on with it as she tries to take on Georgia Adams but can't get enough height and the Vipers captain takes the return catch.

  6. Postpublished at 17 overs

    Sparks 86-5 v Vipers

Georgia Elwiss uses all her experience as she gives up just two runs off the first four balls.

Sarah Glenn tries to send one over cover. It looks like it could be caught or it could go for six, but Danni Wyatt manages to keep it in the field. She does not take the catch, but saves her team five runs.

Only four runs off the over.

Sarah Glenn sends one down to deep square for a desperately needed four.

And another one! Glenn has taken it upon herself to up the ante. She has climbed to 14.

  8. Postpublished at 15 overs

    Sparks 72-5 v Vipers

Sarah Glenn finds the boundary and that is a big sigh of relief as she capitalises on a rare bit of width from Lauren Bell.

They manage to get nine from the over.

  9. Postpublished at 14 overs

    Sparks 63-5 v Vipers

Only two off the over as the Sparks innings has almost ground to a halt.

The current run rate is less than five an over.

They will need about ten an over from the final six to be anywhere near competitive you would think.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 11 June 2022

Campbell run out 7 (Sparks 61-5 v Vipers)

    Never run on a misfield!

Ami Campbell hits it to mid-off and sets off but there is never one on and she is sent back by Gwen Davies but is well short of the batting crease.

That was caused by the build-up of pressure with just seven scored off her 17 balls.

  11. Postpublished at 13 overs

    Sparks 61-4 v Vipers

With Carla Rudd up to the stumps and Georgia Elwiss hitting the mark with her medium pacers, Vipers have the batters where they want them.

Only two singles off another tidy over.

Abi Freeborn was trying to make something happen. Ami Campbell hasn't really been finding the middle as she'd like, six off 14 balls, and that's put a little bit of pressure on Freeborn.

Sparks are going to have to get a shift on if they are to post a defendable total.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 12.1 overs

Freeborn st Reed b Elwiss 18 (Sparks 59-4 v Vipers)

Sharp work from Carla Reed behind the stumps and Abigail Freeborn is stumped.

The Vipers are suffocating their opponents here.

  14. Postpublished at 12 overs

    Sparks 59-3 v Vipers

Ami Campbell gets her first boundary as her shot down to long-on explodes off the pitch and bounces over the fielder. Very welcome.

Six off the over as Sparks try to consolidate before a big finish.

  15. Postpublished at 11 overs

    Sparks 53-3 v Vipers

Freya Kemp has found an excellent line coming in with her left-arm over bowling.

Just a single off the over as Ami Campbell's struggles continues. One from nine does not do much good in T20 cricket.

  16. Postpublished at 10 overs

    Sparks 51-3 v Vipers

A show of intent from Abigail Freeborn as she crunches one to the boundary. Plenty more of those needed!

But Ami Campbell is troubled by Charlie Dean as she plays out three dots and she is yet to get off the mark.

    Halfway through the innings.

  17. Postpublished at 9 overs

    Sparks 46-3 v Vipers

Vipers skipper Georgia Adams brings herself on and the tactic works to a tee.

Adams breezes through her six balls in double quick time for the loss of just one run as another over ticks by.

    A Jones c Bouchier b Dean 27 (Sparks 45-3 v Vipers)

    Maia BouchierImage source, PA Media

    And there it is!

Amy Jones tries to launch Charlie Dean over the rope, but whether it's a combination of wind or not quite getting all of it, she holes out to Maia Bouchier, who once again shows what a good pair of hands she's got.

Vipers will feel they are well on top now.

  19. Postpublished at 7 overs

    Sparks 43-2 v Vipers

There is a high bounty on Amy Jones' wicket. Both teams know its value.

The powerplay has now finished and Jones moves to 25 as she drives Georgia Elwiss for her fourth boundary already.

Elwiss thinks she has Abigail Freeborn trapped in front off the last ball, but umpire Anna Harris is unmoved. That looked very close, to my naked eye.

  20. dropped catch

    Dropped catchpublished at 6 overs

    Sparks 36-2 v Vipers

Chance! Can Georgia Adams take it? No!

She gets hands to Amy Jones' lofted drive at mid-off on the edge of the circle from Anya Shrubsole, but she can't cling on and the ball races on for four.

    That could be crucial.

And Jones quickly hits another boundary and gets three off the final ball to underline the importance of that drop.
