South East Stars 104-8 v Central Sparks 105-8

As I said at the start of that run chase, you just never know in sport.

When Eve and Amy Jones were at the crease, batting was a doddle. When they went, things got much more difficult.

And as often happens, a low scoring chase produced a thrilling finish.

Now the Sparks have just over an hour to calm down, refocus and get ready to take on Southern Vipers in the final.

What a game that was in the end. Credit to the South East Stars because it looked like just a matter of time when Sparks were 59-1.

The Sparks are in the final, Arlott's 16 not out has got them through.

What a game that turned into, though. Credit to the Stars, and Bryony Smith in particular.

    There is the eighth wicket!

Up in the air towards the midwicket boundary and Phoebe Franklin dives forward to take a super catch.

Sarah Glenn goes for eight, unable to get the Sparks over the line.

Seven runs for them. The Stars need two wickets.

    Sparks 98-7 (Target 105)

Alice Davidson-Richards to bowl. She really could do with a wicket for her team.

A good one first up, no run. But Sarah Glenn digs out an attempted yorker and gets an easy single into a big gap at mid-on.

Legside and Emily Arlott gets one out in the deep for a single.

    Alice Capsey to continue.

Arlott and Glenn pick up singles off the first two balls. The bowler responds with a dot.

A bad one down leg and Arlott glances it fine and picks up a crucial two.

They exchange singles off the final two balls and that's six off the over.

    Sparks 87-7 (Target 105)

Just a single off Alice Capsey's six balls.

Sarah Glenn just can't find the gaps and the tension is growing around Wantage Road.

    18 runs off five overs.

  16. Postpublished at 14 overs

    Sparks 86-7 (Target 105)

Emily Arlott and Sarah Glenn nervously pinch three singles off the remaining five balls of Moore's over.

The target is still 19 runs away and that feels a long way off, given how the middle order has subsided.

I don't think there is a more competent number nine than Emily Arlott. All the Sparks need to do is rotate the strike and take the lowest risk option.

    Freeborn b Moore 9 (Sparks 83-7)

Kalea Moore takes the baton off Bryony Smith and bowls Abigail Freeborn first up with one that drifts in and cramps up the batter.

    This is incredible.

Has that swung this match decisively towards the South East Stars?

Still 26 required for the Sparks.
