  1. Eng 21-1published at 3 overs

Malan survives his first ball this time, though it wasn't the most convincing shot as he fishes, unsuccessfully, outside his off stump.

He gets off the mark with a single next ball, before Mohammad Hasnain ends the over with a beauty that flashes past Will Jacks' outside edge.

  7. Eng 18-0published at 2 overs

There's a wonderful atmosphere inside the stadium with plenty of oohs and aahs as Mohammad Nawaz looks to send the ball down a bit quicker.

Will Jacks attempts a huge heave with the final ball of the over and despite not fully timing the shot, it has enough on it to race away for four.

  8. Eng 11-0published at 1.1 overs

    And another!

Mohammad Nawaz opens at the other end but it is a touch short and Phil Salt is able to work the ball past mid-wicket for four.

Good shot. Mohammad Hasnain is a touch full and Will Jacks just helps it over the fielders in the circle in the onside for the first boundary of the match.

  11. Eng 2-0published at 0.2 overs

The ball squirts backward of square into the onside and Phil Salt is off the mark with a single with the first ball. Debutant Will Jacks sends the ball in exactly the same direction for another single - he will be relieved to get off the mark.

It all looked rosy for England after the first T20 on Tuesday - their first game in Pakistan for 17 years.

The returning Alex Hales hit 53 and debutant Luke Wood took 3-24 as England claimed a six-wicket win with four balls to spare.

They were humbled on Thursday, though. Despite chasing an imposing 200 for victory Babar Azam hit 110 not out and Mohammad Rizwan an unbeaten 88 to seal a remarkable 10-wicket victory for Pakistan - the highest chase in all men's T20s without losing a wicket.

And what about Mark Wood? He had an operation on his right elbow in March that required further surgery in July, ruling him out for the rest of the English summer.

It's a big evening for the 32-year-old as he looks to prove his fitness ahead of the World Cup.

Will Jacks has been touted as a future England star for a while. In 2019 he smashed a 25-ball century for Surrey against Lancashire in a 10-over match in Dubai. Last month he hit the fastest century in The Hundred for Oval Invincibles against Southern Brave, taking just 47 balls to reach his ton.

It's a big evening for Will Jacks. The Surrey batting all-rounder has been presented with his first cap by Sam Curran and will make his England debut tonight in Karachi.

The 23-year-old has had an impressive summer and shone for Oval Invincibles in The Hundred.

Now he has the chance to try and make his mark on the international stage as he replaces Alex Hales in the England XI. Other changes see Reece Topley and Mark Wood come in for David Willey and Luke Wood.

It's Mark Wood's first international appearance since the first Test against West Indies in Antigua in March.

England captain Moeen Ali: "We probably would have bowled first as well but we're not too disappointed.

"We obviously have to score big against these guys on this surface, and hopefully set them a score they can't get then try and get some wickets to win the game.

"We're actually playing good cricket. It is only the last 10 overs yesterday that we weren't too good but we weren't too bad either, they played exceptionally well. You have to get wickets to win those kind of games and we didn't."

Pakistan captain Babar Azam: "We're bowling first and the pitch looks good.

"My body feels good but it is not easy playing back-to-back matches. We had some time to rest before and I utilised that."
