Surely you can't be that grumpy before 7am? They're trying to win a Test match!

Sorry, England are insulting Test cricket. No matter what happens on four days. Just turn the game into a one-innings chase. Pakistan must be laughing.

Saud Shakeel has batted nicely. I'm wondering why it has taken the 27-year-old so long to make his debut.

Jimmy Anderson is coming back. Ben Stokes needs the great man to conjure some magic.

Lightning storm in Singapore currently, up at 3am for the footy and following the cricket on tenterhooks while at work, five coffees deep. What a Monday!

We're next door to Mozambique in Eswatini (Swaziland). Morning, neighbour.

The crowd, though, has certainly changed. They were tense earlier. Now there are excitable cheers from the stands.

  6. Pak 144-3published at 45 overs

    Need 199 runs to win

Stokes' demeanour has hardly changed. He's still watching intently from his fielding position.

Brendon McCullum is slouched in a chair with his feet up on the balcony. He certainly doesn't look worried.

The spin certainly is not creating as much threat as Anderson and Robinson managed earlier. England no longer look like getting a wicket.

Normally we see players who come from Karachi play spin much better than those who come from the north or central Punjab.

It always surprises me the random places we have readers from.

Root was feeling under the weather yesterday, shall we say. Some of you may have seen a clip doing the rounds on Twitter of him leaving the field in a hurry. He seems OK today.

I am really happy for Shakeel. He was just waiting for this opportunity and has taken it with both hands.

Good morning. Cate - surely our only reader in Mozambique?

Mohammad Rizwan gets a hug off his batting partner as he reaches his fifty by pumping Leach down the ground. Pakistan favourites now?

The run map shows Saud Shakeel scored 50 with 8 fours, 3 twos, and 12 singles for Pakistan

Good morning! This is Cate following from Mozambique, where I moved full-time in 2020. Famously missed the last moments of hysteria in the 2019 World Cup as WiFi faded. But I can usually keep up via the App. Driving into Inhambane today, so potentially far too much distraction! African roads…

  13. Pak 132-3published at 41 overs

    Shakeel 44, Rizwan 26

Different spinner, same result. Rizwan, who took 24 balls to get off the mark, is sweeping again and the ball soon reaches the boundary rope on an outfield that looks like astroturf.

Is it time for Stokes to bowl himself?

The last thing Pakistan need is a run out. They are both from different parts of Pakistan. One speaks Pashto, one speaks Urdu but Rizwan can also speak Urdu so the communication should be alright.

  15. Pak 127-3published at 40 overs

    Need 216 runs to win

Pakistan have scored 34 in the past six overs. They scored 13 runs in 14 overs before that.

It looks like Stokes is turning to Joe Root.

Rizwan and Shakeel are looking good. They were slow in the beginning but Pakistan are putting them under serious pressure here.

OK, now might be the time to worry. England's spinners cannot stop this flow of runs.

  18. Pak 122-3published at 39 overs

    Target 343

England have asked for the ball to be changed but are not thrilled with the replacement. Jimmy Anderson has both hands on his hips with a grump on and Stokes protests to umpire Joel Wilson too.

This won't help. Mohammad Rizwan advances to Will Jacks and clears mid-off. Pakistan are on the move now.

All three results are still possible. We know Rizwan can really push the run-rate.

After the pressure in the first hour, you could tell they didn't want to lose any more wickets and now they're getting a bit of momentum.

Pakistan have no lost hope yet, they will still be looking to win this game.

  20. Pak 115-3published at 38 overs

    Shakeel 37, Rizwan 16

Maybe we need a column on a player's stats page. Looking purely at the numbers Stokes has not had a Test to remember but we won't forget it either way.

Better from Leach. Rizwan is back in his shackles.
