"It looks like it has gone straight into the gloves," says the third umpire.
Joe Root celebrated at leg slip immediately. He was right next to Foakes.
Well Azhar has definitely gloved it but has it carried?
The soft signal was not out.

England can't believe it. Robinson can't believe it.
England are convinced Azhar Ali has been caught down the leg side. They're high fiving but umpire Joel Wilson was unmoved.
This is an umpire review, not one by England. Has he edged it and has it carried?

Ahmed has bowled too full and his googly he has bowled too short. When he goes for lunch he'll calm the nerves and come back better.
More ruthless stuff from this experienced Pakistan pair as Rehan Ahmed, possibly still dealing with nerves jangling inside, drops too short again. The 18-year-old's eyes closed immediately as ball hit bat. He knew that was not his best.

Speaking of Ollie Robinson, here he is. His dodgy tummy must have settled a little.
It's a good over from England's seamer. One ball is edged while Azhar gets in a tangle against another, ending up having to let it hit him on the upper arm.
There are five minutes to go until lunch.

This is a potentially tricky situation for England. No Jimmy, Robinson struggling, Wood barely bowled a spell longer than four overs since March and an 18-year-old leg-spinner on debut.
Azhar 35, Babar 26
Babar isn't going to take things easy on an opponent who is not long out of his school blazer and tie. First a full toss is swept and then a short ball heaved through mid-wicket.
The two boundaries bring up the fifty partnership in no time.
Is there anything England fans like more than seeing David Warner trudge off the pitch without scoring?
And to add to his woes, he's gone for a golden duck facing first in Brisbane, caught at short leg by Khaya Zondo off the bowling of Kagiso Rabada.
South Africa's seamers are digging their batters out of a hole - having been bowled out for 152, Rabada, Nortje and Jansen have a wicket apiece, reducing Australia to 33-3 with Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne also back in the hutch.

Azhar 34, Babar 18
Ben Stokes and Joe Root have a little chat at the end of Jack Leach's latest over. That was better from Leach, keeping both of these expert players of spin in check.

Ahmed is bowling slightly too full here.
Rehan Ahmed continues and starts to show off his tricks as he grows into this debut. I think that was the googly.
The next is flighted outside off to Babar, who gets a streaky thick edge for four. Ollie Robinson was chasing that down - not who you'd choose for the job given how he's feeling.
A touch too full at the end of the over and Azhar drives to the long-on boundary. Nice shot.

Rehan Ahmed has only played three first-class matches. To find someone who has played fewer first-class matches before making their debut for England, you have to go back to the 19th century in 1899.
I interviewed Rehan Ahmed in the summer after he was signed for decent money in The Hundred. He may have been the most confident teenager I've met.
One thing he did tell me is he's a proper cricket badger. He said he and his family only go on holiday if they can take their cricket kit.
Azhar 21, Babar 12
Ahmed is stocky. He skips in from a short run-up and whirls his arm over in a flash.
The teenager flies through his second over just as quick as his first. Two runs come from this one.
One thing Rehan Ahmed will have to learn is to slow down a little. That first over was a live-texter's nightmare.
Pakistan are clearly going to attack England's spinners. Babar clobbers Leach down the ground to the delight of the few Pakistan that are in the ground.

Give him a few overs and his nerves will settle. He's playing on a pitch where there is a lot expected from him.
