  1. NZ 4-0published at 2 overs

Maiden to start from Robinson and, after a loose one down leg to start, he really challenges Latham with some nibble and plenty of bounce.

    Encouraging for England.

No surprise to see movement for Anderson with the new ball.

Nearly a wicket with his worst ball of the over, too. On Latham's hip, he gloves it down the leg side and just wide of Ben Foakes. Four runs.

Ollie Robinson will share the new ball. Interesting.

Great question, Rachel. Something for us all to get stuck into tonight!

I think you've got to get all the hits from Stokes - Headingley 2019, World Cup final and maybe even Brathwaite sixes (to show it doesn't always go England's way).

I'd also throw in Jimmy Anderson's two wickets in an over in Chennai back in 2021. Got to nip that Clouderson nonsense in the bud early...

Rachel Armitage: My daughter is 7 and starting to show an interest in cricket. As an introduction, I’ve shown her the videos of Broady’s 8-15 and Stokes’s incredible catch from the 2019 ICC World Cup against South Africa - any other recommendations for her cricketing education?

England are back out there, so are Tom Latham and Devon Conway.

We've still got more than an hour left in the session. Can Anderson, Broad and co do some real damage before lunch?

Menzguy Utd11: Fantastic lower order bowling from Stuart Broad. Never a doubt in my mind Ben Stokes would enforce the follow-on given a chance. Let’s go again lads!

There's no real demons in the pitch. New Zealand, if they bat deep, can cause some issues for England. They have a slight chance.

Settled. A 226-run lead. And still everyone is moaning. Is there ever a position England can get into where our fans would be happy?

I think we saw from Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad not bowling first thing that England were going to enforce the follow-on if they could. It was a bit of a gamble by Ben Stokes starting with Ollie Robinson and Jack Leach, but it's kind of gone to plan.

Tim Southee played well but not well enough. England have the opportunity to put New Zealand under severe pressure.

It was a great effort from Tim Southee this morning to try and help his side avoid the follow-on.

His 73 from 49 balls was in vain in that respect, but it has improved New Zealand's position a little...

  13. England have enforced the follow-onpublished at 22:33 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2023
    Breaking

Confirmation that Ben Stokes has enforced the follow-on. New Zealand, trailing by 226, will have to bat again.

Time for Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad to do their thing with the new ball.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 53.2 overs

Henry c Anderson b Broad 6 (NZ 209 all out)

That'll do it. Will England enforce the follow-on?

Tentative shot from Henry and he can't do anything with an awkward short ball from Broad, spooning it up to Anderson at gully.

That's four wickets for Broad and from the look of it, he'll be back out there bowling again soon...

  15. NZ 209-9published at 53.1 overs

Nearly a mix up as Henry turns down an easy single. Neil Wagner got three quarters of the way down and was able to amble back to make his ground.

Suggests there was probably a single.

  16. NZ 208-9published at 53 overs

    Trail by 227

Steady stuff from Leach, just a single from his latest.

Wagner attempts a reverse sweep - a shot that led to two wickets for Leach yesterday - and misses.

There's an appeal but the umpire isn't interested. Neither are England it turns out. No review.

Neil Wagner in at number 11 and blocks the last ball of Broad's over.

Leach will continue from the other end.

Broad has another one and this time Leach holds on.

Blundell skipped down the track but can only slap the ball straight to mid-off where Leach holds on to a sharp chance.

Another 28 runs still needed to avoid the follow-on.

I don't mean to worry anyone but there are a few spots of rain on the TV camera lens at the Basin Reserve...

Maybe. I'm not so sure, think it will definitely change things longer-term but I'm not sure every team will want to adopt he same style, let alone have the capacity to pull it off.
