    Vipers 163-4 (target 216)

Emma Marlow is back on and she gets away with a full toss, that Charlie Dean can only club away for a single.

Six from the over though and that's exactly what Vipers need.

It's taken her a while, but Georgia Adams has a half-century to go with her three wickets.

Adams gets there from 77 balls - and she's scored just one boundary so far, which gives an idea of the patient nature of her innings.

  3. Postpublished at 40 overs

    Vipers 157-4 (target 216)

A desperate lbw appeal by Leigh Kasperek, sensing the game may now be slipping away from Diamonds.

The umpire isn't interested and Charlie Dean remains at the crease, although it's a tidy over for Kasperek, with just one conceded.

Vipers need 59 from the last 10 overs to retain the trophy.

Four more for Charlie Dean, who has dominated this stand of 42 with Georgia Adams.

She should have been out in this over, though, spearing Hollie Armitage to point where Katie Levick was unable to clasp it safely.

Dean is 29 not out, with Adams on 46 and 60 are needed from 66 balls.

  5. Postpublished at 38 overs

    Vipers 147-4 (target 216)

Leigh Kasperek is back on at the Pavilion End - and she begins with a flighted delivery that Charlie Dean crashes to the cover boundary.

Dean is into her stride now after a sluggish start, with 22 from 28 balls. Vipers need 68 from 72 balls.

  6. Postpublished at 37 overs

    Vipers 143-4 (target 216)

Charlie Dean rides her luck a little, driving uppishly and just past the outstretched hand of Hollie Armitage.

But again, Dean is able to capitalise on a short-pitched delivery, hammering it through midwicket for four valuable runs.

It's not a good over for the Diamonds skipper, who gives up 13 runs from it, including two wides.

Former Hampshire player Jemma Green on BBC Radio Solent

"At the moment it does look like they are struggling to keep up with the run rate despite that couple of boundaries."

  8. Postpublished at 36 overs

    Vipers 130-4 (target 216)

A much-needed boundary for Vipers as Katie Levick drags one down and Charlie Dean pumps it through the covers off the back foot.

Six from the over, which is now fractionally less than Vipers require.

  9. Postpublished at 35 overs

    Vipers 124-4 (target 216)

It looks as though Hollie Armitage is going to match Vipers' Charlotte Taylor and bowl right through her allocation in one go.

That's her eighth over completed and Vipers have taken another three singles from it. They need 92 from 90 balls.

Former Hampshire player Jemma Green on BBC Radio Solent

"I'm a big fan of getting your overs done quickly. It really does unsettle the batters."

  11. Postpublished at 34 overs

    Vipers 121-4 (target 216)

There's a sudden vibrancy about Diamonds in the field that wasn't evident a few overs ago.

Just three more runs from that Katie Levick over. They need almost a run a ball now.

  12. Postpublished at 33 overs

    Vipers 118-4 (target 216)

Charlie Dean is struggling to pick Hollie Armitage so far.

She's up and running with a single, but has now faced eight deliveries. Georgia Adams is on 38 not out at the other end.

  13. Postpublished at 32 overs

    Vipers 115-4 (target 216)

Pressure building now on Vipers, with Charlie Dean unable to get off the mark so far.

Just one run from that Katie Levick over and the required rate rises to 5.6.

  14. Postpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 25 September 2022

BBC Radio Solent commentator Kevan James

"That's a good piece of bowling, it looked like a top-spinner going through quite quickly."

Two wickets in successive overs for Hollie Armitage!

She gets rid of the dangerous Emily Windsor, who nicks behind and that brings Charlie Dean to the crease.

  16. Postpublished at 30 overs

    Vipers 112-3 (target 216)

Diamonds clearly want to keep a couple of Linsey Smith overs in the bank, so they go back to Katie Levick, who bowls a tidy over for just two runs.

Georgia Adams has 34 and Emily Windsor 11, and Vipers need 104 from the last 20 overs.

Lovely shot by Emily Windsor, bisecting Diamonds' off-side fielders perfectly as she takes a boundary off Hollie Armitage.

Vipers pick up eight from the over, but the required run-rate remains above five for now.

  18. Postpublished at 28 overs

    Vipers 102-3 (target 216)

Vipers' total advances to three figures, but it's not advancing quite as fast as they'd like.

Three singles from that Linsey Smith over and Vipers need 114 more from 22.
