    Thanks Sam!

I must admit I was struggling to concentrate on the men's ODI at the end of that innings.

It was ALL about the Women's Under-19 World Cup semi-final. These two images sum up the feelings at the end...

Right then, it's time for me to hand you over to Matthew Henry ahead of what should be an exciting England chase in Bloemfontein.

Before that, though, we've got a bit of time to reflect on all that drama over in Potchefstroom...

Sam Curran is a man in form for England, though. He picked up where he left off at the T20 World Cup and took 3-35.

Comfortably the pick of the England bowlers.

It wasn't quite the dream return for Jofra Archer in what was his first England game in 678 days.

The fast bowler took 1-81 from his 10 overs, his most expensive figures in ODI cricket.

However, after going for 20 in his ninth over, he came back to take a wicket in his 10th and show that he is still a very skilful death bowler. Albeit a slightly rusty one at the moment...

David Willey: 0-38 from six overs

Jofra Archer: 1-81 from 10 overs

Moeen Ali: 1-51 from eight overs

Sam Curran: 3-35 from nine overs

Adil Rashid: 1-55 from 10 overs

Olly Stone: 1-37 from seven overs

  8. 'Happy to keep them under 300'published at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

England bowler Sam Curran talking to Sky Sports: "There is some tired bodies after that. We're happy with that.

"They came out of the blocks in the powerplay. Rassie [van der Dussen] played really well and gave himself a chance but we're happy to keep them under 300. The ball might come on a little bit quicker under the lights, it is a little slow.

"Our openers will attack like they always do but it is about being smart because they have a really good bowling attack."

  9. SA 298-7published at 50 overs

Singles from the last three balls and South Africa come up just short of 300 despite Rassie van der Dussen's century.

Will that be enough on what looks like a very flat pitch in Bloemfontein? Sam Curran was excellent for England and showed that seamers can have an impact, though.

It should be an exciting chase.

WHAT A CATCH! David Willey makes this looks so easy but it was anything but!

David Miller had just reached his half-century, smoked a Sam Curran delivery down towards the long on boundary and it looked six all the way.

It went flat but Willey took the catch just inside the rope, casually tossed it up as his momentum took him over before calmly stepping back inside to complete it.

Topped off with a look as if to say, 'what's all the fuss about?'

  11. SA 291-6published at 49 overs

    Miller 49, Magala 4

Jofra Archer's work for the day - with the ball, at least - is done.

A streaky edge for four from Sisanda Magala makes these the fast bowler's most expensive ODI figures.

However, he's back and has got through his 10 overs. After so long out, that's a big landmark in his recovery - and he took a wicket to boot.

    Meanwhile in Potchefstroom... DRAMA!

England have beaten Australia by three runs to win reach the Under-19 World Cup final.

With Australia needing four runs to win in pursuit of 100, England captain Grace Scrivens dismissed Maggie Clark lbw to bowl Australia out for 96.

England are jubilant. Australia are crestfallen.

  13. wicket

    Parnell c Malan b Archer 2 (SA 287-6)

Jofra Archer has a wicket in his first game back!

Excellent bowling, putting that difficult previous over behind him and completely deceiving Wayne Parnell with a slower ball.

The slowest of slower balls, in fact, and the ball comes off the outside edge and loops to Dawid Malan at backward point.

A nice moment for Archer in his first game back.

  14. SA 286-5published at 48 overs

    Parnell 2, Miller 48

Even with a no-ball for height to gift South Africa another free hit, it's a good over for Sam Curran - again.

Seven from it but the key wicket of Rassie van der Dussen, too. Two overs to go and Archer will continue.

What a finish this is in the Under-19 World Cup semi-final.

With four needed to win, Australia have lost their ninth wicket.

There are 17 balls left. Australia need four. England need one wicket.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 47.2 overs

Van der Dussen c Duckett b Curran 111 (SA 281-5)

Sam Curran removes the centurion! The end of a superb innings.

Curran angles it across Rassie van der Dussen, the right-hander tries to flay the ball over the off-side but sends it more up than out.

For a moment it looks like it will land before the two fielders but Ben Duckett comes sprinting in from the deep to take a very good catch.

  17. SA 279-4published at 47 overs

Van der Dussen 111, Miller 44

Oh dear, oh dear. Archer is struggling here. He loses his grip on a knuckle-ball, it's a full toss outside off for Miller, nailed for four and it's a no-ball, too.

Another free hit but Archer gets the yorker right to keep it to a single. That's a very big over for the home side - 19 from it!

Will Archer be back to bowl his 10th after leaking 76 from his first nine overs?

  18. 6 runs

    SA 271-4published at 46.3 overs

After starting the over well, the wheels are coming off now for Archer. He oversteps to give Van der Dussen a free hit, follows it up with a wide and then the South Africa centurion nails the free hit for a big, big six!

  19. England take crucial Smith wicketpublished at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

    Amy SmithImage source, Getty Images

    Is that the game?!

Amy Smith looked to be taking the game away from England but the right-hander has just picked out mid-on at the end of the 16th over.

That leaves Australia 77-8, needing 23 from 25 balls with two wickets left.

    Follow it here

  20. SA 260-4published at 46 overs

Van der Dussen 102, Miller 38

David Miller is all at sea against Adil Rashid. Twice in the over, the England spinner has his hands on his hips. Firstly, as Miller plays and misses with a big heave but the ball bounces over the stumps.

Then four balls later, another ugly heave but a thick inside edge gets past short fine leg for four. Streaky from Miller but they all count.

It's getting very tense in Potchefstroom, by the way, more on that shortly.
