  1. SA 253-4published at 45 overs

Van der Dussen 101, Miller 32

Miller nails a pull shot and splits the two fielders in the deep - is this the start of the charge?

It looks like that is the plan but South Africa have to deal in singles for the rest of the Stone over.

Five overs to go. Rashid will finish off his set next up.

  2. 100 runs

Rassie van der Dussen goes to his fourth ODI century!

After swaying clear of a fierce Stone bounce the ball before, he middles the next over to deep point. Just a single but it brings up a superb hundred.

Now it's time for him and Miller to really kick on.

    England now favourites?

Australia need 41 from 42 balls.

  4. SA 245-4published at 44 overs

Van der Dussen 99, Miller 26

Excitement in the crowd as Rassie van der Dussen pushes the last ball of the over into the leg-side and wants two.

He wisely decides to stick to one. He's on 99 and is on strike for the start of the next over.

  5. SA 241-4published at 43.3 overs

Van der Dussen 98, Miller 23

Really, really good from Adil Rashid. Three dot balls to start the over and David Miller is not picking him at all.

  6. SA 241-4published at 43 overs

Van der Dussen 98, Miller 23

Another over of nudging and nurdling from South Africa as Olly Stone keeps them to seven from the over.

Meanwhile in Potchefstroom, Australia are now six down...

Just actually done a bit of work for the first time today and come back and Van der Dussen's suddenly doubled his score in what feels like 15 mins max. What is going on!

  8. SA 234-4published at 42 overs

Van der Dussen 93, Miller 20

Adil Rashid is back on but still no sign of the inevitable late South Africa charge. Both batters are showing England's leggie plenty of respect.

Seven from the over, Rassie van der Dussen is into the 90s but needs some running repairs before play can resume again.

  10. SA 227-4published at 41 overs

We're into the last 10 overs but no real fireworks just yet.

Rassie van der Dussen and David Miller are perhaps just gathering themselves before one last push.

A little over seven an over will take them to 300. That has to be the minimum they're after from this position.

  11. SA 220-4published at 40 overs

Van der Dussen 84, Miller 17

David Miller shakes his head as he chats to Rassie van der Dussen after another excellent over from Sam Curran. Just two from it.

It's difficult to pinpoint exactly what it is Curran is doing to make him so effective on what has otherwise looked a very flat surface. Whatever it is, though, it's working.

He's got figures of 1-22 from seven overs.

  12. SA 218-4published at 39 overs

Van der Dussen 83, Miller 16

Tidy enough over from David Willey at this stage of the innings. Six from it with a couple of twos as the batters look to up the intensity of their running between the wickets.

I'm feeling more than a pang of jealousy seeing the fans on the grass banks, basking in the Bloemfontein sun.

Still there are worse places to be than Salford on a grey January day, I'm sure...

Sam Curran's bowling map - 5% full, 46% good, 49% short from 6 six overs. His figures are 1-20.Image source, BBC Sport

Really good over from Sam Curran on his return to the attack.

Van der Dussen calls for a quick single to mid-off and - not for the first time - it's tight. Jofra Archer is the fielder on this occasion and he is mightily close with his shy at the stumps.

    Gone if he'd hit.

  14. SA 209-4published at 37 overs

Another good over for the Proteas.

Van der Dussen is moving through the gears now, nailing a straight drive back past Moeen Ali and with the fielder up at mid-off, the ball races away.

  15. SA 202-4published at 36 overs

Van der Dussen 70, Miller 13

Just three singles from the last four balls after the back-to-back boundaries to start. A decent recovery from Archer but 11 from the over makes it a good one for South Africa.

  16. SA 200-4published at 35.3 overs

Glorious from Rassie van der Dussen. He pounces on some width from Archer to club the first ball of the over through point for four and then follows it up with a beautiful cover drive - all along the deck - for four more.

A single from the third takes South Africa to 200. A solid platform from which to spring but there isn't a huge amount of batting left after these two.

  17. SA 191-4published at 35 overs

An expensive over from Moeen but it ends with a very good delivery. More sharp turn to the left-handed Miller and the outside edge goes quickly to hit the boot of Jason Roy at slip.

  18. 6 runs

    SA 187-4published at 34.1 overs

Close to a second wicket for Moeen Ali! David Miller goes over the top, doesn't quite middle it and the ball loops enticingly towards long off.

Chris Woakes, on as a sub fielder, is down there but can only get one outstretched hand to it as he moved to his right. He can't hold on, though, and the ball drops over the boundary cushion for six.

Really good over from Jofra Archer, just one from it and he goes past the edge of the well-set Van der Dussen with a delivery that just got up a bit from back of a length.

Meanwhile in Potchefstroom, England have given themselves a glimmer of hope with two early wickets. Australia are 11-2, chasing 100.

  20. SA 180-4published at 33 overs

Five from the over as Rassie van der Dussen playing a delicate, fine reverse paddle to get two from the last.

Jos Buttler read it and tried to cut it off with what looked like a slide tackle. No joy, Rashid chases it and flicks it back just before the rope to save a couple of runs.
