    It had been coming.

Three dot balls in a row by Oshadi Ranasinghe and the pressure tells on Tazmin Brits.

She spoons a simple catch up to Ama Kanchana in the covers and Sri Lanka have their breakthrough.

On our first night in Cape Town, we ventured out for dinner - myself, Henry Moeran, Daniel Norcross and Adam Mountford.

We were sat at the waterfront in the shadow of Table Mountain (it's tough, I know) and our mouths dropped in shock as a man wearing a bright purple Northern Superchargers shirt sauntered past.

The Hundred gone global - and hopefully he's here tonight to witness the Superchargers' Laura Wolvaardt's cover drive.

I love watching Laura Wolvaardt bat. Everything just looks so in sync and effortless.

She creams a cover drive away to pick up her first boundary.

    Class. Absolute class.

Sri Lanka can't afford to be ill-disciplined in the field and with the ball. It's not been a convincing innings so far.

  5. SA 22-0published at 3 overs

    Target 130

A casual nine-ball over. This innings feels like it has been going on for about an hour already.

Tazmin Brits picks up a second boundary with a thick inside edge, and the fielder at third lets it go through them into the sponge.

Two wides and a no-ball in the over. It has been a fairly sloppy start by Sri Lanka.

I don't mind this aggression we're seeing. Brits is coming hard but Sri Lanka is coming harder.

  7. SA 16-0published at 2.2 overs

Achini Kulasuriya is looking to counteract the aggression and advancing Tazmin Brits.

The South Africa opener is still looking to advance down the pitch, and Kulasuriya goes very short.

It's wild though and flies down the leg side. Anushka Sanjeewani does really well to gather behind the stumps.

Ama is losing her line and you can't afford to do that at this level of the game.

Brits has come out and being very aggressive. She is trying to take the pressure off Wolvaardt.

  9. SA 13-0published at 2 overs

    Target 130

Ama Kanchana strays a little bit wide and Tazmin Brits is able to free her hands and despite not timing it properly the ball flies away to the boundary.

She strays twice down the leg side, with three wides conceded.

    Not the best start.

Chamari Atapattu is the reason that South Africa are chasing 130.

Here are the best shots from her innings for you to enjoy...

  11. SA 3-0published at 1 over

    Target 130

Tazmin Brits is fine to continue.

She blocks out the final ball.

That was a good start from Achini Kulasuriya.

    SA 3-0published at 0.5 overs

Hello! Welcome to the World Cup, Tazmin Brits.

She advances down the pitch to Achini Kulasuriya, but the Sri Lanka pacer sees that. She goes short and it surprises Brits and it hits on the helmet.

We'll have a slight delay while she has a quick concussion check.

One word you'll see a lot in the next few weeks while describing Laura Wolvaardt is elegance.

She gets off the mark with a glorious back-footed punch through point for a couple, before a rather ungainly hack through the leg side brings her a single.

    Right, time for the chase.

Achini Kulasuriya is going to bowl the first over with Laura Wolvaardt on strike.

She is the key wicket. She was one of Alex Hartley's players to watch...

    Thanks Aymen.

That innings swung back and forth quite a lot.

South Africa started really well before Sri Lanka fought back but the hosts came roaring back at the end with Marizanne Kapp and Shabnim Ismail.

This run out started the comeback and restricting Sri Lanka...

Here's that wicket from earlier where Kapp got capain Chamari Atapattu out.

It's over to Callum Matthews to take you through South Africa's innings.

South Africa bowler Shabnim Ismail: "The way Nadine [De Klerk] bowled today was exceptional. I am really chuffed with all of performances in the bowling unit and hopefully the batters can finish it off."

South Africa need 130 to win.

The middle of the game belonged to Sri Lanka as Chamari Atapattu scored plenty back-to-back boundaries.

But the wickets at the back end of the game left South Africa in charge, despite being penalised.

Can the host nation win their opening game?

That is probably about 40 more than I thought Sri Lanka were going to get at one point.

South Africa will probably be a little relieved that Sri Lanka haven't got up to 140-150 with how that second-wicket partnership was going.
