We have seen some brilliant action again on day three of this T20 World Cup.

Sri Lanka captain Chamari Atapattu: "I'm feeling good. I'm really happy about our performance. Harshitha batted really well and Nilakshi is one of the finishers in the group so I'm really happy.

"I wasn't nervous. I just played my natural game. I got out early but we have a lot of good batters in our team. We have been working on our batting the last couple of months so we now have some confidence in our line-up, with 5-6 good batters.

"We are trying to play our natural game, play some positive cricket and get through to the semi-finals.

"We have to stick to our plans for the next game. Australia is one of the best teams in the world but we have to think about our plans. We have to improve the bowling a little bit and continue our positive batting."

  7. 'We need to work on our boundaries'published at 20:19 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2023

Bangladesh's captain Nigar Sultana Joty: "I think we had a great batting in the powerplay but after it we couldn't manage boundaries and it cost us. We were hoping to continue that.

"I guess we need to work on our boundaries options. We actually lost so many wickets and need to work on that.

"I think Marufa bowled really well and showed how crucial she is for the side.

"It was a good surface but I think we were short of 20 runs. If we had 140 on the board it would have been different.

"We have to think about the Australia and South Africa game now."

What an amazing moment for Sri Lanka! Those celebrations speak for themselves.

They're now all standing in a group together for photographs, a lovely show of their team spirit.

It would be a magnificent story if they can keep this winning streak going and make it to the semi-finals.

Tomorrow's fixture between New Zealand and South Africa is now effectively a quarter-final. Tense!

It's been a historic partnership. It is their highest partnership, match winning and means Sri Lanka played two games and won two and are guaranteed to have a big say in what will happen at the back end of this group stage.

There are some brilliant celebrations going on among the Sri Lanka players right now as Harshitha Madavi is lifted high into the air by her team-mates.

This was a huge win that gives them a real chance of making the semi-finals. Not many people were predicting that at the outset of the tournament.

South Africa v New Zealand in Paarl tomorrow is now a hugely significant game in the context of this group.

It's been absolutely fantastic. Sri Lanka lost their key player Chamari Athapaththu early on but there was a fantastic partnership off of 79 balls. They have seen their side home.

It's good Sri Lanka have been able to rely on other players and not entirely on Chamari Athapaththu.

The atmosphere here has gone a bit flat. It feels like that there is a lot of South Africa contingent here hoping Bangladesh do well.

That boundary off the first ball instantly lifted the pressure of Sri Lanka for the rest of the over, with five more coming off it.

Marufa Akter is coming back for her final over. She is 3-13 so far. Some more magic, like below, is needed if she is to rescue Bangladesh from here.
