It went straight to Maddy Green, she is an unbelievable fielder. I can't believe she's dropped that.

  2. dropped catch

De Klerk dropped on 26published at 19.2 overs

    That's a horrible drop.

Nadine de Klerk hammers it straight to Maddy Green at mid-on but the ball escapes through her fingers.

It's gone straight up in the air and Bezuidenhout says, 'that's mine.' She actually overruns it but adjusts well.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 19 overs

    Tryon c Bezuidenhout b Jensen 40 (SA 125-6)

    That's out though.

Chloe Tryon top-edges the ball high into the Paarl sky and wicketkeeper Bernadine Bezuidenhout pouches the catch.

That would have been a screamer from Amelia Kerr. She caught it but as soon as she hit the ground, it came out of her hands.

  6. dropped catch

De Klerk dropped on 23published at 18.4 overs

Nadine de Klerk sweeps towards the leg-side boundary but Amelia Kerr cannot hold onto the diving catch!

Jensen is smiling so it's not an injury that is causing her immense pain but the New Zealand physio has come on.

  9. SA 121-5published at 18.2 overs

Hayley Jensen comes back for her second over but twice aborts her run up after two deliveries. Has she picked up an injury here?

Jensen has a smile on her face but the New Zealand physio is coming out to have a look.

They need to start going hard now, Tryon in particular - South Africa will want her to face the majority of the balls.

  11. SA 118-5published at 18 overs

    Shot!

The crowd are roaring in delight again as Nadine de Klerk skips down the track and hammers Amelia Kerr down the ground for four.

De Klerk then sweeps towards the mid-wicket boundary for a single, wisely turning down the second run. They cannot afford any more disastrous run outs.

  12. SA 104-5published at 16 overs

    Tryon 37, de Klerk 15

Good running between these two South Africa batters as they run two from each of Eden Carson's first two balls.

This partnership is worth a very handy 33 now. There's a few concerned faces in the New Zealand field.

This game is quite finely poised at the moment, I don't think either side is as strong with the bat as they are with the ball.

This not a replay Delmi Tucker will want to watch again in a hurry.

That brings up the 100 for South Africa. It gives them something to bowl at.

But I think they've got to get 130 as a minimum. I know New Zealand didn't bat well against Australia but they will want to right the wrongs from that game.

  16. SA 101-5published at 15.3 overs

All credit to Chloe Tryon here. Yes she has had a bit of luck but she came to the middle with her team in a really difficult situation and is dragging them up to a half decent score.

Now Nadine de Klerk joins the party with a punch drive through point for four!

The crowd - and the stadium DJ - are loving it!

It wasn't a great delivery from Tahuhu, it was short and wide outside off, Chloe Tryon slashes at it but it would have been a screamer from the wicketkeeper if she'd taken. She's tipped it over the bar.

Two boundaries for Tryon in the over, neither went where she intended but while she's there, South Africa have a chance of posting a competitive total.

  19. dropped catch

Chloe Tryon dropped on 31published at 14.5 overs

Another top-edge from Chloe Tryon and a diving Bernadine Bezuidenhout can only get a slight touch on the ball and it flies away for another fortunate boundary.

Tryon got her front leg out of the way and tried to smash it, the ball has almost come off the back of her bat and bounced a couple of times before going crossing the rope.
