Chinelle Henry hits Tuba Hassan towards deep mid-wicket and a fielder took a very comfortable catch but the umpire calls for a dead ball and Henry survives.

Nobody seems to know why the umpire called the dead ball. The fielders and batter were ready, but maybe the umpire wasn't. There isn't much complaining from either side, though.

The next ball is hit over extra cover for a boundary. Cricket, eh?

Chinelle Henry is the new batter and gets off the mark with a single from her first ball.

Really disappointing from Rashada Williams. She didn't get the previous ball away so maybe there was a touch of frustration, but she should have kept that shot down.

    Williams c & b Sadia 30 (WI 73-2)

    Caught and bowled!

It was a full toss from Sadia Iqbal. Rashada Williams clips it straight back to the bowler, who takes the catch at head height. Very easy dismissal.

  5. WI 72-1published at 12 overs

No boundaries in this over either. Pakistan are doing well in the field. A short ball from Tuba Hassan is hit towards long-on for a couple to conclude the over.

  6. WI 66-1published at 11 overs

Left-arm spinner Nashra Sundhu resumes the bowling after the break. She's bowling full outside off stump and West Indies struggle to clear the infield, only getting five runs off the over.

If West Indies can get to around 140 that will be really challenging for Pakistan. That means 80 off the next 10 overs, which is not impossible.

I hope Rashada Williams bats through as West Indies definitely need someone who can carry the innings like Hayley Matthews usually does.

I am also looking forward to Chinelle Henry bat. She has under-performed so far. She has so much potential. They want her to step up as a batting allrounder and I don't think she has done that yet.

Pakistan have only got one wicket for far, but it is a big one.

Can they get another? Rashada Williams and Shemaine Campbelle are starting to look comfortable at the crease.

Tuba Hassan comes on... also in cap.

A lovely shot by Rashada Williams is lofted past extra cover but it'll only be a single run taken. It's four runs from the over and it's time for a drink.

Rashada Williams is going well for West Indies. It's good to see someone other than Hayley Matthews putting their hand up.

Here comes spinner Nashra Sundhu... she's bowling in a cap. I'm a fan. What are your thoughts? Get in touch via #bbccricket

The first ball is full and wide, punished by Rashada Williams past extra cover for four.

Shemaine Campbelle also picks up another boundary, it's too wide and Campbelle slices it past extra cover for another four. A partnership is building.

There's a really good crowd in for match not featuring South Africa. I think a lot of people came to Paarl to watch Temple Boys CPT, a hip-hop act, and maybe they have come the cricket as well.

  13. WI 51-1published at 8 overs

It's a beautiful day in Paarl, the sun is shining and the grass banks are packed out.

Fatima Sana's over goes for seven runs. West Indies are slowly building.

  15. WI 40-1published at 7 overs

Nida Dar bowls outside off stump and Rashada Williams beats the outside edge, but the ball goes through Muneeba Ali's legs and flies towards the boundary. It's stopped by the fielder and West Indies take a couple of byes.

    Six runs off the over.

  16. WI 34-1published at 6 overs

Shemaine Campbelle is the new batter and gets off the mark with a single. This concludes the powerplay.

Hayley Matthews will be livid. She's whacked it round the corner and nailed it, but straight to the fielder. That's not where she wanted to put it. The celebrations from Pakistan's players show how valuable her is for the West Indies.

    Pakistan have their first wicket!

It was on the pads and Hayley Matthews clipped it towards the fielder at deep square leg and Sidra Amin takes a simple catch.

Nida Dar has quickly figured out that pace off the ball will make it tricky for Hayley Matthews to score. Pakistan's spinners have bowled well, but the seamers have bowled too many freebies. Matthews is key for West Indies. When she has batted for more than 40 balls in T20Is West Indies have won six and lost two.

There's only one run conceded in Nida Dar's over. She takes pace off the ball and Hayley Matthews can't get it away.
