I've done some rough calcuations and it is not looking good for New Zealand.

If South Africa beat Bangladesh, which is highly likely, they will need to bowl Sri Lanka out for about 35 and hope South Africa only win by about 10.

Five wides to start with from Eden Carson. Not exactly the ideal start for New Zealand...

A quick turnaround here and the players are already out on the pitch ready to go. Harshitha Madavi and Chamari Athapaththu will open the batting for Sri Lanka.

Spinner Eden Carson has ball in hand will begin for the White Ferns.

New Zealand batter Amelia Kerr, after 66 from 48 balls, said: "It is nice to get some runs and build a great partnership with Suzie [Bates]. The ball was keeping low so it was nice to post the total we did and hopefully we can go out and defend it.

"We had the run rate on the back of our minds but we focused on building a partnership. Maybe we could have gone [big] a few overs earlier. We learned a lot from the first few games here and focused a lot more on playing straight.

"There were a lot of bowled and lbws in our first few games and there were plenty of runs playing straight before we earned the chance to play cross-batted shots. It shows you get value for playing straight."

    Thanks, Aymen.

A competitive total posted by New Zealand. They would have had 170 in mind, perhaps, but that will still be tricky to chase under the lights in Paarl.

I'm not too confident Sri Lanka will be able to chase this. Plenty of boundaries from New Zealand who have put a competitive total on the board.

Over to Timothy Abraham for the rest.

  7. Sri Lanka need 163published at 20 overs

New Zealand finish the innings with three byes off the last ball. There's terrible fielding by Sri Lanka and that could be another costly mistake.

Kerr run out 66 (NZ 159-3)

Amelisa Kerr is just short of her ground at the non-striker's end as she looks to get back for a second.

Kerr has been great running between the wickets but this time she was inches short.

Maddy Green is the new batter.

The pace taken off the delivery there. 39mph, that's so slow.

    Really well bowled.

Bates st Sanjeewani b Ranaweera 56 (NZ 156-2)

    Finally!

Inoka Ranaweera takes pace off the ball, it grips in the wicket and Anushka Sanjeewani immediately whips off the bails. Bates doesn't even look back and walks straight off.

  12. NZ 156-1published at 19.2 overs

The first ball of the final over hits Suzie Bates' pads and it's a very precious dot ball.

Inoka Ranaweera comes round the wicket and Bates works towards long-on for a couple.

  13. NZ 154-1published at 19 overs

Amelia Kerr hits Chamari Athapaththu to deep mid-wicket. They come through for a couple to bring up their 100 partnership!

The next ball is a full toss and a loose delivery. Kerr hits it over the fielder at cover for another four.

The Sri Lanka dugout looks very worried.

Questions have been asked about Suzie Bates and whether she still has what it takes. But she has answered those questions and played really nicely for the second game running.

Suzie Bates brings up her half-century too with a boundary too! The ball is played off the pads down towards long off.

Sugandika Kumari finishes her spell with two singles.

A really good knock from Amelia Kerr but she needs to push on now, can she get that strike rate above 150?

Chamari Athapaththu will complete the over.

Bates hits down the ground to long-off. Nilakshi de Silva is in pursuit but the ball goes through her legs and into the boundary ropes.

Amelia Kerr hits Athapaththu towards mid-wicket and comes through for a tight couple to bring up her half-century.

There's a pause in play as Achini Kulasuriya bowls a yorker and immediately looks like she is in pain. It seems to be some sort of shoulder injury.

The physio comes on and she's going on the stretcher.

    Very unlucky for Sri Lanka.
