James: Time to move on from Vince. Just all at sea from the start, not able to rotate the strike and not reading the turn. Not up to this level of cricket.

  2. Eng 119-3published at 24 overs

Roy adds a single to end the over.

The partnership is up to 23 from as many balls as Taskin Ahmed prepares to bowl the next.

  3. Eng 118-3published at 23.4 overs

    Super shot from Jason Roy.

The right-hander skips down to turn Shakib's delivery into a full toss and just times it through mid-wicket for four.

  4. Eng 113-3published at 23 overs

    Roy 75, Buttler 10

Roy and Buttler are rotating the strike nicely so far and milk Taijul for four singes in the over.

They've been helped by some untidy Bangladesh fielding at times, too.

Careful now! Buttler drives the last ball of the over into the covers and wants a single.

He sets off, Roy starts to before seeing the fielder, set slightly deeper in the covers, swoop in and sends his skipper back.

Thankfully for England, Buttler is quick and gets back with a dive. This is no time for a run out.

  6. Eng 108-3published at 21.2 overs

Jason Roy is on the reverse again, this time hitting the returning Shakib Al Hasan over backward point.

The ball bounces away to the boundary cushion. More positive batting from Roy.

  7. Eng 103-3published at 21 overs

Buttler follows up the reverse with a delicate lap-sweep that is pulled up just short of the rope.

Good running allows them to get back for three. A strong start to what is a vital partnership for England.

  8. 100 runs

    Eng 100-3published at 20.4 overs

Jos Buttler is off the mark with a boundary.

A reverse sweep from the England captain and some very stiff fielding from the man at backward point allows the ball through.

That four also brings up the 100 for England.

Edged and gone. James Vince got away with a couple of plays and misses in the last over. Not this time.

Full from Taijul Islam, encouraging the drive and Vince obliges. Turn to find the edge and Mushfiqur Rahim takes a good catch behind the stumps.

    In comes Jos Buttler.

That wicket of Malan has helped Bangladesh to slow the scoring rate.

    Four singles from the over.

  11. Eng 92-2published at 19 overs

Three from Taijul's latest and perhaps a sign of how well Roy is seeing it at the moment as well.

He goes back and cuts the last delivery for a single - from about middle and leg.

Mehidy Hasan was arguably the pick of the Bangladesh bowlers in the first game and he's started very well today, too.

Roy sweeps for a single but that is the only run from the over as Vince battles to get to grips with his surface.

  13. Eng 88-2published at 17 overs

A couple of rippers from Taijul late in the over and Vince can be relieved that the ball avoided both bat and off stump.

  14. Eng 85-2published at 16 overs

Vince gets off the mark with one poked into the off side and Roy keeps ticking over with a swept single to end the over.

Drinks are taken after that wicket. It's come at an important time for the hosts.

With Roy going so well, the last thing they needed was for Malan to be able to just ease his way in and get settled as well.

James Vince is the new batter for England.

Beauty from Mehidy Hasan in his first over and he's got England's form man.

The ball pitches in line and straightens to hit Dawid Malan plumb in front.

Very good delivery from around the wicket but Malan got himself caught on the crease and that's a big breakthrough for Bangladesh.

Yep, Jason Roy has got himself set it seems!

The England opener advances to Taijul and hits high over mid-on, couple of bounces for four.

Next up, he's on the reverse sweep again and gets this one finer. Back-to-back boundaries to end the over.

Jason Roy gets to his half-century from 54 balls, a very good knock in tough conditions so far.

After a shaky start, he's starting to motor now. Good signs for England.

  19. Eng 65-1published at 14 overs

What had been a tidy over from Mustafizur ends with a typical Jason Roy shot, the ball bludgeoned over mid-off for four.

Overpitched by the seamer and nothing subtle after Roy's retort. Very effective, though, and it takes him to 49.

  20. Eng 59-1published at 13 overs

Dawid Malan's ton in the last game was full of grit and determination but when he attacked, he still managed to look elegant.

Less so here... He's down the track to Taijul and wants to put him over mid-wicket. The ball turns on it, though, and he ends with shovelling it behind square for two.
