  1. wicket

WARWICKSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 392published at 12:39 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Rushworth c Overton b Gregory 1

That's it then. Chris Rushworth holes out and the Bears are bowled out.

With only a lead of 108, it would take an awful batting collapse, even by Somerset's standards, to prise a result out of this one.

  2. Middlesex pair frustrating Essexpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Middlesex 170 & 152-7 v Essex 266 & 211 (Middlesex need 156 runs to win)

A couple of early wickets for Essex, coming after their blitz in yesterday's evening session, made this one look like a formality.

But Ryan Higgins (30*) who batted well in the first innings is doing so again, alongside Luke Hollman who has just moved to 31.

The duo have put on more than 50 runs together and have eaten into the deficit nicely.

The match is at a crucial point now. How long can their partnership last?

  3. wicket

    WICKET - Hasan Ali c Kohler-Cadmore b Gregory 15published at 12:36 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Somerset 284, Warwickshire 389-8 (109.2 overs)

Somerset get that third bowling point as Hasan Ali slaps one to midwicket.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby, one of the county circuit's top blockers, comes in to join Chris Rushworth.

OHD has flour balls. The first of them is an attempted ramp . . . and miss.

Then he is dropped on the boundary, only a single.

Rushworth to face the last two . . .

  4. SUSSEX WIN BY TWO WICKETSpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Sussex 335 & 232-8 v Durham 376 & 189

Another short ball from Brydon Carse, which Oli Carter pulls powerfully through square leg for four to take Sussex to victory.

A calm knock of 33 not out from the 21-year-old, with wickets tumbling all around him.

  5. wicket

    WICKET - Hain c Rew b Leach 119published at 12:30 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Somerset 284, Warwickshire 389-8 (108.2 overs)

Centurion Sam Hain gets a thin edge off Jack Leach and is gone.

10 balls for the Bears to get the 12 runs needed for a fourth batting point.

Or one wicket for a third Somerset bowling point.

No relection on Chris Rushworth as he comes in to join Hasan Ali, but the latter seems more likely.

  6. Postpublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Sussex 335 & 228-8 v Durham 376 & 189

Oli Carter hooks Brydon Carse handsomely away for four.

    Sussex need just three more...

  7. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Lancs 291 & 78-2 v Surrey 442 & 292-6/d

That's a beauty from Sean Abbott.

The Aussie quick extracts a little bit of lateral movement from the pitch and finds Josh Bohannon's outside edge.

It goes quickly to Ollie Pope's left at a catchable height, but the England man puts it down.

Bohannon then unfurls a lovely cover drive that races away for four.

  8. High Fives for hundred maker Hainpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Somerset 284, Warwickshire 374-7

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

Sam Hain's 15th first-class century was probably the first to be brought up by a five.

After running a single for his 97th run Hain turned to see Craig Overton's attempt to run out Hasan Ali miss and result in four overthrows.

The match, which started a day late, will end in a draw unless Somerset have a calamitous second innings. But Warwickshire will be encouraged by their batting performance.

Hain and Alex Davies yesterday have both opened the season with centuries.

  9. Glos lead by over 200 runspublished at 12:13 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Glamorgan 404 v Gloucestershire 165 & 443-6

Gloucestershire are still going at a rare old lick and their lead has now passed the 200 mark.

Graeme van Buuren has moved on to 62 alongside Zafar Gohar.

Gohar joined the action a short time ago after Glamorgan's only wicket so far today saw Harry Podmore send Jack Taylor on his way for 38.

  10. 100 runs

Century for Sam Hainpublished at 12:11 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Somerset 284, Warwickshire 360-7

Sam Hain gets to his century.

It has taken six hours but it's worth a batting point or two.

Three in the bag now for Warwickshire as they have gone past 350, just after losing Jacob Bethell for 19.

39 off 34 balls to prise a fourth.

  11. wicket

WICKET McAndrew st Robinson b Kuhnemann 1published at 12:08 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Sussex 335 & 208-8 v Durham 376 & 189

    The tension grows further!

Nathan McAndrew dances down and tries to hit Matt Kuhnemann into the sea, but gets nowhere near it, and Ollie Robinson whips off the bails.

    Sussex are still 23 adrift.

  12. wicket

Double breakthrough for Pearspublished at 12:07 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Derbyshire 321 & 327-8

Two wickets in four overs at Derby offers Worcestershire hope of forcing a result.

Home skipper Leus du Plooy is still there on 83 - but the hosts lead by only 175.

    Crucial phase of the day.

  13. wicket

WICKET Crawley b Tremain 3published at 12:06 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Kent 222 & 3-1 v Northamptonshire 117 & 331 (Kent require 224 to win)

An early breakthrough for Northants - and it's a big one!

England opener Zak Crawley has lasted only eight balls before his stumps are clattered emphatically by Chris Tremain!

Crawley got 91 in the first innings before Tremain claimed his scalp then too.

    Dream start for Northants!

  14. Tense morning in Hovepublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

Sussex 207-7 need 24 more to beat Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

The sea fret in Hove is simply adding to the tension here. Sussex resumed their second innings this morning on 172-5, needing another 59 to beat Durham.

Oli Carter is key to this and is still out there on 17. He is batting very nicely but has lost two partners so far. Sean Hunt fell to the bowling of Brydon Carse when he was on a career-best 14. Keeper Ollie Robinson taking a fantastic diving catch.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice then threw his wicket away trying to sweep spinner Matt Kuhnemann. He top-edged to Ben McKinney at short fine leg when on six, with 29 runs still needed. The game is on a knife-edge!

  15. wicket

WICKET Wells c Worrall b Roach 45published at 11:57 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Lancs 291 & 65-2 v Surrey 442 & 292-6/d

    One brings two!

Kemar Roach bangs one in, and Luke Wells can't get on top of the pull shot.

It's a top-edge straight to Daniel Worrall and Wells looks gutted, having to drag himself from the middle.

  16. wicket

WICKET Jennings b Clark 16published at 11:53 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Lancs 291 & 65-1 v Surrey 442 & 292-6/d

    Surrey have their first!

Keaton Jennings has been walking at the bowling all morning, but with Ben Foakes standing up to Jordan Clark's bowling, Jennings gets stuck on the crease, dangles his bat and drags it on.

Josh Bohannon trots out to the middle.

  17. wicket

    WICKET Hudson-Prentice c McKinney b Kuhnemann 6published at 11:50 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Sussex 335 & 202-7 v Durham 376 & 189

    Another one goes for Sussex!

Fynn Hudson-Prentice attempts a hard sweep with Matthew Kuhnemann bowling over the wicket, but can only get a top edge, and Ben McKinney takes the catch at short fine-leg.

The home side still need 29 to win with three wickets in hand - it's going down to the wire...

  18. Yorkshire declare on 286-8published at 11:47 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Yorkshire 517 & 286-8, Leicestershire 415

After 66 runs added in 45 minutes this morning, and four wickets, Yorkshire have finally declared - and set Leicestershire 389 to win, in 87 overs.

Now we'll see whether the declaration came too late!

  19. NORTHANTS ALL OUT 331published at 11:45 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Kent 222 v Northamptonshire 117 & 331

Joey Evison takes his fourth wicket to dismiss number 11 batsman Chris Tremain without scoring and bring the Northants second innings to a close.

Kent have taken the three wickets they needed in about 40 minutes, while Northants added 31 runs to their overnight total.

We'll have a short innings break and when Kent's batters return they will be chasing down 227 for victory.

An honourable mention for Rob Keogh who ended unbeaten on 116 - how important might that prove to be?

  20. wicket

WICKET Eskinazi lbw Porter 37published at 11:41 British Summer Time 9 April 2023

    Middlesex 170 & 93-7 v Essex 266 & 211 (Middlesex need 215 runs to win)

Middlesex really needed Stevie Eskinazi to stay in...but he hasn't been able to.

Jamie Porter takes an eighth dismissal of an impressive display and the way Essex are playing it feels like it won't take too long for them to wrap up the win.
