Warwickshire 112-6 (41.3 overs) v Surrey
A sudden rain break in Birmingham.
Oh well, it had been sort of forecast.
Middlesex v Kent 87-5
It feels very early for this but the umpires have just had a chat, presumably about the light at Lord's. The radio is out, I wonder if the floodlights might be illuminating proceedings in the not too distant future.
Ryan Higgins has been thumping in bouncers at Ben Compton of late. Not sure that will help.
Durham 155-4 v Derbys
A flurry of wickets either side of lunch but now a flurry of boundaries to get Durham going again.
Three in three balls from Graham Clark off Ben Aitchinson.
A wide half-volley driven through point, a angled defensive stroke to third man and another drive squirted away backward of point.
Leicestershire 153-4 v Glamorgan
Chris Cooke with a superb diving catch has given Timm van der Gugten his fourth scalp.
Lots of movement from TVDG and Lewis Hill gets a faint edge which is superbly snagged by Cooke, diving low to his right with two hands.
Cricket can swing quickly, eh? Two batters in and looking set fair. Nine minutes later and you're four down with two newbies in the middle.
Wiaan Mulder joins Peter Hanscomb.
Warwickshire 93-6 v Surrey
Another one gone at Edgbaston.
Two in successive overs.
From only his sixth ball, Michael Burgess returns a catch to Kemar Roach and the West Indian stoops to take a stunning grab.
The new man in is Chris Woakes. England fans will be as keen to see how he bats as Bears supporters. Not long now until the Ashes starts. And this is only Woakes second Champoionship appearance since coming back from over a year out injured.
This wil be his first bat, in fact, since innings of 25 and 19 in the third Test against the West Indies in Grenada in March 2022.
Leicestershire 152-3 v Glamorgan
The century partnership is brought up between Lewis Hill and Colin Ackermann but four balls later Timm van der Gugten has pinned Ackermann, a very disgruntled Ackermann, who has to walk after a long wait for the finger. He's a tall man himself and I suspect he thinks that was too high and missing leg. All three wickets for TVDG.
Peter Handscomb joins the Australian reunion on the field.
Middlesex v Kent 79-5
Ben Compton is drawn into an uncharacteristic edge by Ryan Higgins, wafting at a wide one and sending the ball straight to the fourth slip spot which has been occupied for most of the day. His reward is a boundary to move to 35 and an elevated heart rate. Teeth are sucked throughout the Middlesex ranks.
Warwickshire 92-5 v Surrey
The promising 45-run stand between Ed Barnard and Dan Mousley either side of lunch is broken.
Barnard gives Ollie Pope a catch at second slip - and Dan Worrall has a second wicket.
Michael Burgess comes to the crease.
Middlesex v Kent 75-5
Tim Murtagh allows his first runs since lunch, just getting one a smidge wrong allowing Joey Evison to rattle to the very short cover boundary.
They're right on the far edge of the square and that can't be more than 50 yards. Anyway, Evison will feel better, he had one single from his first 11 balls. Time is the most important commodity for Kent batters here, of course.
Leicestershire 146-2 v Glamorgan
Lewis Hill's good nick continues after his unbeaten 162 against Derbyshire last time out.
He drives David Lloyd straight down the ground for four to move to 49 and two overs later he nurdles Timm van der Gugten for a single for his 15th first-class half-century. 82 balls and eight fours for the 32-year-old.
Durham 126-4 v Derbys
Oh yes what a catch!
Michael Jones slashes at Ben Aitchinson and it's a flat and hard to second slip's right.
Haider Ali takes off and snaffles a blinder.
Derbyshire now on top.
Kent 69-5 v Middlesex
Big wicket. The Kent skipper is deceived by a yorker from Tim Murtagh, coming forward to turn away into the leg side but almost toppling over as it crashes into his pads at boot height. At the other end Ben Compton's head goes down before the finger even goes up.
Wicket maiden for Murtagh. Joey Evison is the latest to fist-bump Compton. Can he stay with him, though?
Leicestershire 135-3 v Glamorgan
Just when it looks like Glamorgan are getting to grips with restricting the flow of runs, Michael Neser offers up a couple of chances which Lewis Hill gobbles up with glee for back-to-back fours.
Leicestershire 123-3 v Glamorgan
Michael Neser opens the afternoon session with a maiden over. More like it from the Australian, who was rather costly in his first spell.
Timm van der Gugten opens from the other end and swiftly thuds Colin Ackermann's pads, the umpire reckons that's a tad high howerver. As you were.
Middlesex v Kent 66-4
Tim Murtagh takes the first over after lunch, having cleaned-up Zak Crawley early on this morning. He's right into the groove again from ball one and half a shout for LBW against Ben Compton a couple of deliveries later.
There is the prospect of, er, weather in the capital after tea, so this session is surely crucial for the visitors.

Leicestershire have made decent progress on the first morning despite being put in by Glamorgan under cloudy skies, with the visitors unable to maintain consistent pressure.Sol Budinger, with a typically rapid 25, and Rishi Patel (19) fell to Timm van der Gugten but the in-form pair of skipper Lewis Hill and Colin Ackermann have looked largely untroubled.Left-arm seamer Jamie McIlroy and spinner Andrew Salter have both looked tidy in their first outings of the season. But Glamorgan captain David Lloyd, playing his 100th game, will need more from his attack, including himself, if they are to restrain the prolific Foxes batting.

Division Two:
Chester-le-Street: Durham 99-3 (29 overs) v Derbyshire
Bristol: Sussex 47-1 (16 overs) v Gloucestershire
Leicester: Leicestershire 123-2 (32 overs) v Glamorgan
Middlesex v Kent 66-4

To say Middlesex have justified their decision to bowl first at Lord’s would be a massive understatement.
Tim Murtagh with a beauty bowling Zak Crawley between bat and pad for 11, then three wickets falling for six as Ethan Bamber and Ryan Higgins continued to bamboozle the Kent batters with swing and nip.
Conditions have been helpful for the seamers certainly, but have been exploited beautifully by the home attack.
For Kent, once again Ben Compton (29*) keeping his wicket while all around him were losing theirs, has looked serene amid the carnage. His partnership with Sam Billings (12*) may hold the key to any chance of building a respectable first innings total.
Middlesex v Kent 66-4
Middlesex's morning and then some. The hosts have hit their straps with the ball, Ethan Bamber in particular using the conditions to get some swing and producing some disciplined lines to claim a deserved 2-14 from his nine overs.
Ben Compton is on 29 and Sam Billings on 12. Kent have a lot of work to do when play resumes.
Warwickshire 64-4 (29 overs) v Surrey
Surrey are in the ascendancy at Edgbaston.
Four morning wickets - and as tough a new-ball spell as the Bears will surely face this season.
But, from 47-4, Dan Mousley and winter signing Ed Barnard have at least avoided any further alarms in the 20 minutes before lunch.
