  1. Tea at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Durham v Yorks 191-5

A solid day so far in the north east that's ebbed and flowed.

Yorkshire were 132-2 and beginning to motor along with Dawid Malan, who made 36, and Jonny Bairstow, 27.

But both fell within seven balls of each other.

George Hill, who takes tea on 25, and Matt Revis added 49 but Revis fell on the stroke of tea.

  2. 6 runs

    Warwickshire v Essex 43-2

    Shot!

Dan Lawrence gives himself a bit of room as he walks down the pitch to the bowling of Ed Barnard, and lofts high over the cover boundary for six.

Earlier in the over, Tom Westley was dropped in the slip cordon.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Robson c Sibley b Atkinson 76 (Surrey v Middlesex 166-2)

    Surrey have the breakthrough!

Gus Atkinson has perhaps been the pick of the five-man seam attack today and he get a full enough delivery to move away from Sam Robson and draw an edge to first slip.

Robson probably could have let that one go but he's found a few runs behind square on the off side playing at balls like this today.

    Kent 56-4 v Hants

Keith Barker sends down a maiden as we get back under way.

Jack Leaning has 17, while Jordan Cox is yet to get off the mark.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Revis b Raine 21 (Durham v Yorks 181-5)

It looked like Matt Revis and George Hill had weathered the storm with a stand of 49 for the fifth wicket.

But Revis falls to a beauty from Ben Raine.

Full of length, it seams away just enough to catch the off stump.

  6. Postpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Glamorgan 70-1 v Worcs 109

Glamorgan continue to dominate in Cardiff.

After losing opener Eddie Byrom without scoring, David Lloyd (44 not out) and Marnus Labuschagne (26 not out) are fast closing in on Worcestershire's first-innings score.

This will be Australia batter Labuschagne's final game for Glamorgan before he links up with his international team-mates ahead of the Ashes.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Browne c Burgess b Ali 10 (Warwickshire v Essex 24-2)

    What a grab that is.

Hasan Ali replaces Chris Rushworth, and strikes in his first over.

Nick Browne looks to work one to leg, but doesn't get enough on it, and is caught by a sprawling Michael Burgess away to his right.

  8. 150 runs

up for Middlesexpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Surrey v Middlesex 151-1

It's becoming a little concerning this for Surrey.

You might have thought the extended break would have given them the chance to regroup but runs have continue to flow on resumption.

Sean Abbott goes too full and Sam Robson punches down the ground for four to raise 150.

Of Robson's 68, 52 have come in boundaries.

  9. 150 runs

up for Yorkshirepublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Durham v Yorkshire 155-4

The loss of Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow in such quick time has led to the scoring rate dropping off a cliff.

18 runs have been scored in the last 12 overs.

George Hill and Matt Revis are battling away for the White Rose with Durham very much on top.

But the shackles are broken as Hill steps down the wicket to swing New Zealand left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel down the ground for six to bring the 150 up.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Cook lbw b Rushworth 13 (Warwickshire v Essex 13-1)

    Chris Rushworth gets Alastair Cook!

Bowling round the wicket, the veteran seamer brings one back into the pads, and that looked pretty adjacent to me.

Tom Westley strides to the middle to join Nick Browne.

  11. 50 runs

for Pieter Malanpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Surrey v Middlesex 138-1

Consecutive overs go for eight a piece and in the second of them, Pieter Malan reaches fifty.

96 balls and four fours in his second half-century of the season.

Sam Robson then drives at Kemar Roach and nicks him right to where a third or fourth slip might have been.

  12. Close of play at Wantage Roadpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Northants 86-2 v Notts

The rain has not relented in Northampton since lunchtime and the umpires have decided no further play is possible.

The 30 overs that did take place were very competitive.

Notts won the toss and removed Emilio Gay for 15 and Australian overseas Sam Whiteman for 8.

But Ricardo Vasconcelos, 37 not out, and Saif Zaib, 22, brought things back on an even keel with a stand of 50.

  13. 50 runs

for Sam Robsonpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Surrey v Middlesex 117-1

Kemar Roach is back from the Pavilion End and Sam Robson squirts him in front of point for a couple to take him to fifty.

88 balls and nine fours. His first half-century of the summer.

Roach follows up with a snorter that flies past the shoulder of the bat.

  14. Back under way at The Ovalpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Surrey v Middlesex 114-1

Dan Worrall completes his over from before lunch and we're finally going again in SE11.

Pieter Malan then squeezes Sean Abbott through square leg for three to get Middlesex going again.

It was a superb morning session for them - can Malan and Sam Robson build this afternoon?

  15. Postpublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Warwickshire v Essex 0-0

Nick Browne survives the first over of the game from Chris Rushworth, despite a very loose drive off the last ball of the over.

Alastair Cook is preparing to face Oliver Hannon-Dalby at the other end.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Bairstow b de Leede 27 (Durham v Yorks 132-4)

And now Jonny Bairstow is also out!

What a pair of wickets this is for Durham within seven deliveries.

Bairstow had enjoyed a couple of moments of fortune and here tries to drive a gentle away-swinger from Bas de Leede through cover.

He's very flat-footed and gets a thick inside edge that takes out his middle stump.

  17. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Old Traffordpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Lancs v Somerset 109-4

George Balderson beats Tom Lammonby's outside edge twice in two balls, but will have to wait to resume his battle with the Somerset opener.

The rain has reached Manchester (shock), and the umpires take the players from the field.

  18. 15:00 BST restart at The Ovalpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Surrey v Middlesex 111-1

Good news from south London with play getting back under way shortly.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 11 May 2023

    Malan c Jones b Carse 36 (Durham v Yorks 132-3)

But two balls later Dawid Malan is gone!

A stinking delivery from Brydon Carse, short and wide, might have stuck in the pitch a bit.

Malan appears to be there too soon with his cut stroke and gets a strange loopy edge straight to first slip for a gentle catch.

  20. 50 runs

    Durham v Yorks 132-2

A short-arm jab of a cut from Jonny lad sends a wide delivery from Bas de Leede to the point fence.

But Dawid Malan is catching the eye as well.

He unfurls back-to-back cover drives off Brydon Carse for fours to bring the fifty partnership up in 81 balls.
