Hampshire 169-4 v Middlesex
A half-century for Liam Dawson from 88 balls.
A good knock from the England man and it looks like his batting partner is about to join him with a 50 of his own...
Lancashire 201-5 v Surrey
Good recovery this by Lancashire from 119-4.
Phil Salt and George Balderson are going well.
Essex 229-2 v Warwickshire
Dan Lawrence completes his second hundred of the County Championship season to become the second Essex centurion of the day.
Leicestershire v Durham 232-4
Whisper it, but could Leicestershire be playing themselves back into this?
Division Two leaders Durham have stumbled from 145-0 to 221-4 as the hosts claim the key wicket of Alex Lees.
The former England Test opener brought up his 20th first-class ton off 146 balls.
But his three-and-a-half hour stay came to an end just five balls later for 101, off the bowling of Callum Parkinson, as Colin Ackermann takes a second catch of the day.
Ollie Robinson and Graham Clark are now at the crease and taking Durham closer to their first batting point.
Northamptonshire 200-6 v Kent
Applause ripples around the ground as the hosts reach the 200-mark.
Rob Keogh is closing-in on a century - he's on 92.
Somerset 163 v Nottinghamshire 8-1
Somerset have the early breakthrough they needed.
Haseeb Hameed's agony comes to an end as Matt Henry gets one to nip back and take the top of the opener's off stump for an 18-ball duck.
It's been a familiar dismissal today and just what the doctor ordered for the hosts.
Henry's figures are 1-1 after his first four overs.
Somerset 163 v Nottinghamshire 8-0
Notts opener Haseeb Hameed is struggling out there and after 14 balls is still waiting to get off the mark.
The luckless Craig Overton has sent a few past the outside edge, and Matt Henry had Hameed in trouble in the last over - a maiden.
But the opener is still there.
Hampshire 153-4 v Middlesex
The runs have not been free-flowing in Southampton and that's why this 50 partnership between Nick Gubbins (43*) and Liam Dawson (33*) is so vital for Hampshire.
Dawson sends Luke Hollman to the boundary for the first four in some time and then does the same four balls later in a sign that batting might be getting slightly easier for the duo.
Yorkshire 243-4 v Gloucestershire
Boy did Gloucestershire need that.
Fin Bean can't believe his bad luck as he pulls Zaman Akhter straight to Ben Charlesworth at deep square-leg to fall for a superb 114 - just four short of his highest first-class score.
It ends a 153-run stand with George Wilson who remains unbeaten on 72.
He is joined by Jonathan Tattersall as Yorkshire close in on a first batting point.
Worcestershire 160-4 Derbyshire
Worcestershire have lost a fourth wicket at home to Derbyshire.
Adam Hose made 28 before being removed by Nick Potts in the 52nd over.
Opener Jake Libby is still at the crease for the Pears and is currently on 68 from 159 balls.
Essex 201-2 v Warwickshire
Essex captain Tom Westley completes the 26th first-class century of his career as the hosts continue to dominate.
Essex then go past 200 - and the double-century partnership is set to follow.
24 of Essex skipper Tom Westley’s 26 first-class career centuries have been for his county.
Somerset 163 v Nottinghamshire 6-0
Cloud cover has developed and there's the odd drop of rain as Notts openers Ben Slater and Haseeb Hameed come to the wicket.
Craig Overton looks fired up and determined to get Somerset back in this under slightly more favourable conditions for bowling.
But Slater takes six from his opening over, culminating with a defensive prod which races to the boundary for four.
Northamptonshire 172-6 v Kent
One brings two and it's Hamidullah Qadri who is making the big moves this afternoon.
After breaking-up the Keogh/Zaib partnership in his last over he then removes new man Lewis McManus for one.
The ball pops-up in the air after McManus plays it onto his pad and it's a catch for Ben Compton fielding at short leg.
McManus only last four balls and the momentum is indeed with Kent.
Yorkshire 229-3 v Gloucestershire
Well batted Fin Bean.
The 21-year-old unfurls a lovely pull shot through midwicket for four to go to his second first-class century in his nine-match career.
He has watched on as Adam Lyth, Shan Masood and Dawid Malan departed, but remained immovable to go to a hundred off 140 balls. There were 14 fours and a six in there.
The stand with George Hill moves on to 139.
Glamorgan 160-6 v Sussex
Just one wicket fell in the first half of the afternoon session as Glamorgan at last found some stability against Sussex, with a half-century stand between Billy Root and Chris Cooke.
But spinner Jack Carson came on to bowl Cooke and end that 59-run stand.
Earlier, Kiran Carlson, who was dropped on 10, did not profit too much as Nathan McAndrew’s quicker ball found his edge on 27.
Sussex have packed the point and gully area for left-hander Root, but he has still managed to squeeze a few shots through.
Sussex’s Kiwi Henry Shipley was among the first to profit from the Kookaburra ball with two morning wickets as Glamorgan struggled to 85-4 at lunch.
Northamptonshire 169-5 v Kent
The Keogh/Zaib partnership is broken!
Hamidullah Qadri makes the important intervention for Kent.
Saif Zaib makes room for a shot by backing away from the stumps but fails to connect with the delivery which then clatters into the wickets.
The partnership was worth 65 and, from Zaib's point of view, that's a disappointing ending.
The hosts were looking well-set so that might just turn the momentum back in Kent's favour.
Aldridge c Moores b Hutton 35
Somerset are all out in just 48.1 overs as Kasey Aldridge goes down swinging to give Brett Hutton a five-for.
Having unleashed a mighty reverse sweep slog six off Matt Carter, Aldridge comes down the wicket to Hutton (5-34) and top-edges to wicketkeeper Tom Moores for a 63-ball 35.
Hutton is having a fine season and has been the man once again for Nottinghamshire today.
Matt Carter (3-43) and Dane Patterson (2-42) also deserve a mention in dispatches, but injury-depleted Somerset look to have underperformed on what looks an ideal day for batting.
We won’t know until Notts bat, of course, but that looks a below-par total under blue skies and scorching sunshine having won the toss.
Essex 169-2 v Warwickshire
A welcome drinks break for the toiling Bears bowlers in the 31-degree heat at Chelmsford.
No breakthrough now since 11:23 - and not much sign of it either.
Warwickshire have sacrificed a seamer to bring in two spinners for this game, despite their first-choice Danny Briggs suffering an injury in Fridays T20 win over Worcestershire.
Jake Lintott, making only his second Championship appearance for the Bears, is on now, having had so far had no luck.
That followed the 16 overs sent down for 63 sent down this morning by on-loan England spinner Dom Bess, who was not needed by Yorkshire.
Somerset 150-9 v Nottinghamshire
Somerset are almost done here as a fifth wicket falls after lunch.
Brett Hutton (4-31) has been excellent today and gets another ball to nip back through a gaping gate and hit the top of Matt Henry's off stump.
A loose shot but credit to the bowler. One more for a five-for.
Somerset are 40-5 after lunch.
Northamptonshire 155-4 v Kent
Rob Keogh and Saif Zaib's partnership is now worth 50.
They got there in 69 balls and these are proving to be valuable middle-order runs.
Arshdeep Singh picked up two wickets this morning and he has been brought back on to break up this duo.
